El Novillo Alegre Sabana — Restaurant in Mata Redonda

Service was decent but overall a pretty negative experience, first off the water glass i was served had an awful odor as if it was not washed and disinfected correctly, also the bathroom had lots of black mold growing on the edges of the floor, which are both clear signs that this place does not take sanitation highly.

The food was mediocre at best, i ordered lomito with pasta pomodoro, the noodles were overcooked and had 0 seasoning, the lomito (which i asked to be medium rare) was medium, and again same as the pasta it had 0 seasoning, and for the sear, well lets just say it was none existent, it had burned grill marks (black) with the rest of the surface being gray, so the flavor profile was basically like eating a piece of charcoal with some gray meat on it.

For the rest of the group who had steaks, everyone seemed to have gotten a different temperature then what they asked for, a clear signal that there is no consistency in this place and definitely not...

A bit of a frustrating experience, honestly. The service is poor for this class of restaurant. Dónde Carlos across town is light years ahead in terms of service.

The food was outstanding, everything made to perfect. Steaks were cooked perfectly and were tender. The potatoes and beans were spot-on. Two plates and drinks came just short of $79 — the food quality does support the price.

However, the service and the details you expect from a higher end restaurant don’t. Simple stuff like the men’s bathroom being out of soap shouldn’t happen.

Will most likely go again, but it won’t...

The service was superb, everyone is friendly and welcoming and professional. Language was not a barrier what so ever.

The food selection is amazing as the selection’s huge and nothing disappointed. The drinks were also just above and beyond my expectation.

I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone. The manager took time out of his busy schedule to see how we were doing and that’s not something you see everyday. From my observation it seemed like there were a lot of regulars as they are on a first name basis with the servers.
