YOLO Social — Restaurant in Quepos

This place has potential to be great, but I must share my poor experience. Visited with my wife later in the evening, as this place stays open later than other restaurants (which is good). The host was very kind and respectful. Positives: the place has a good vibe, music was great, and seems like a fun place to be. My chicken Caesar wrap was very good as well. However, two things went poorly:

First, My wife ordered nachos and was disappointed to find out the nachos are served without cheese. This is despite the fact that the menu says the nachos are “layered with cheese.” The explanation received was that the nachos come with a bean dip (placed below nachos) that contains cheese. This made no sense, as it shows the menu was a deception and… who wants nachos without cheese on top??

Second, we were charged “extra” (2,500 colones) for ordering beef with my wife’s nachos. This was also strange because the menu instructs the customer to “choose” between chicken, shrimp, or tenderloin as toppings to the nachos. Nothing on the menu indicates an extra charge for choosing a meat topping. When I pointed this out to the server, he simply told me that meat is extra (he could not explain why). Eventually, the server agreed to remove the charge from the receipt, which I will give him credit for. But, could easily be interpreted as an attempt to overcharge...

I ate lunch at this place and the food was 4.5 stars. I asked the bartender for the menu and he pointed to the wall and he explained to me about their wings, burgers and pizzas and the prices are posted on the food. Additionally it is posted that there will be an 18% surcharge for parties of 8 or more. My issue with this establishment was at the end when paying the bill. My party had two menu items at 6,200 colones simple math will bring my total to 12,400 colones. We also had two sodas even on the expensive end @ 2,000 colones our total should have been 16,400 colones. Our total bill was 17,800 colones. I personally do not mind paying for what is just but at the same time ensure you ask, secondly ask for a receipt with the breakdown, I was never given one and at that specific time I just paid the amount expecting to get a receipt. My advice is go to Quepos food for 1/3 the price. This establishment could have gotten and overall 4.5 stars if they were honest with...

Had really bad service, waited about 40 minutes for 2 margaritas and a Coke Zero. There are games available and the place looks cool inside, which was the only reason we stayed and waited for our drinks in the beginning. It would’ve been okay, but the table behind us had a person who puked all over the place & it got on one of our table members. I’d think that some sort of compensation or anything would be made available, but nothing. We just got up and moved tables literally across the bar & split another margarita (which also took about 15 mins) before leaving. Mind you, these wait times were not reasonable as it wasn’t that busy. Also, the margaritas were not very strong, mostly ice/watered down, especially for the price. Would not go back again, we only stayed because it was late at that point & we weren’t trying to find a different spot to...
