We recently had the pleasure of taking a beach vacation in Tulemar, Costa Rica and it was truly amazing! From the beautiful beach to the stunning scenery, every moment of the trip was filled with wonder and excitement.
One of the highlights of the trip was the house we stayed in, El Escondite. The house was spacious, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed to feel right at home. The best part was the breathtaking views of the ocean from the many balconies, pool, and hot tub. We spent countless hours just sitting on the main balcony on the top floor, sipping drinks, and taking in the sights and sounds of the jungle and the sea.
The staff at the house were incredibly accommodating and friendly, making us feel welcome and taken care of throughout our stay. They were always available to help us with anything we needed, from arranging activities to providing recommendations for local restaurants and shops.
When it came to exploring the area, we found that there was no shortage of things to do. Tulemar has an amazing beach, and we spent hours lounging by the waves, having cocktails, swimming in the warm waters, and watching the sunset over the horizon.
We also took advantage of the many activities available, including hiking, kayaking, zip lining, and even going on a sunset sail. There is even white water rafting if you want some excitement and depending on the time of year you go. Each experience was unique and unforgettable, and we were constantly amazed by the beauty of the natural world around us.
Overall, our trip to Tulemar, and staying in the El Escondite house, was an incredible experience that we will always cherish. From the comfortable and luxurious house to the stunning natural beauty of the area, every moment was filled with wonder and adventure. If you're looking for a beach vacation that will take your breath away, Tulemar is definitely the...
Read moreWe come every year. Costa Rica has our hearts, including Tulemar! I read all the negative reviews and let me clear up a few things before you continue. The sewage review isn’t really a thing. We have smelled it maybe once out of the 6 times we have been here. May I remind people it’s a country where the sewage isn’t very good, but Tulemar seems to be great at handling it. Second, yes, the beach is public, Tulemar is not. If you can find a public way down to the beach, they won’t kick you out because it’s public. There is a BEAUITFUL easily accessible beach 5 minutes south.
Tulemar isn’t here to hold your hand while it rains in the RAIN forest. Yes, it rains almost every day during the rainy season. Please look up the best time to go and not blame the resort for the lack of activities when it does rain. This is not a Mexican all inclusive resort with endless entertainment. It’s a quiet secluded resort meant to have a relaxed atmosphere.
Best features: The wild life!! It has a sloth sanctuary. Sloth, monkey, toucan, macaw galore! The food is amazing! Victorias is our favorite next to Tulemar Cafe. Check out Namaste down the road for some great Indian food! Very kind staff! David at the beach recognizes us every year and is so kind! Your concierge will kindly book any tours for you! Order food for you. Send transportation. It’s great! If you leave them alone, they will assume you want to be left alone. But they will gladly tell you anything you want to know and answer all questions!
Over all I would give them a 10 star if I could. Grounds are beautifully kept. They keep it natural down at the beach and I love that! The bungalows and houses are very nice. It’s the best...
Read moreThis is place is just incredible. So many things to do in and out of the resort. I went there last May and I left there bewildered. My family and I went zip lining and fishing. They were both super insane. Fishing my whole family caught giant fish with incredible guides. The zip line tour was so fun. A little scary but super fun. We also went jet skiing which I wouldn’t recommend if it’s windy. If it is nice and calm out than definitely do that. The leader tours you through islands and the tour we did the tour stops for snorkeling. The drive is 3 1/2 hours away from the San Jose airport but don’t worry because it’s comfortable and there is a lot to see. If you don’t like the sound of the drive I’m pretty sure you can fly from San Jose to somewhere around Quepos. The resort had immaculate hotels, nice pools, and an incredible restaurant. When your walking around keep your eyes up on the trees because there is a chance you will be able to see the sloths. And if you are doing nature hikes like on the Manuel Antonio just keep your eye out for Capuchin Monkeys because they tend to steal your stuff from you for food. So keep your belongings secured. But at the resort that most likely won’t happen. But rarely if you leave items on your balcony or door step and they disappear id Blame the Capuchin monkeys. You will see lots of cool birds and wildlife. The staff are so cool, nice, and amazing. This place is a go-to. You will definitely...
