Read moreI went there this evening assuming that this place plays jazz. Nothing could be further from my mind. We paid around US$40 for two to get in. The front desk made no indication of the actual program. The place was about 90% empty. One old guy with his guitar was on stage singing songs in Spanish. He was quite skillful and had a good voice. But it was not jazz, there was no variation in his technique for the entire evening. He did not even use another instrument, electronic or otherwise. Some middle aged people were singing along in Spanish with his songs, and I had never heard a single one before. We bought a drink and did the journey by Uber. Based on this experience, it was not what I expected and my wife and I left early. They at least need to put out a program indicating that they are not playing jazz. We...
