Taco Bar In Jaco! This was probably the best food we had the entire time we were in Costa Rica. For sure in our top two! We had heard so much about this place that we were all dying to go. Also there are signs advertising this everywhere! We probably passed 20 of them while we were driving on all our long drives up and down the country. You will not miss it!! Now I know this is a bold statement, but everyone in our group can agree that these were the BEST TACOS we have ever eaten in our entire lives. If I was going to tell you to go to one restaurant in Costa Rica it would be the Taco Bar in Jaco. For my tacos I got herb shrimp and breaded Mahi Mahi. So what this taco bar does is give you the base so the taco and the meat or fish. So you go up to the window and order how many tacos you want and the different types of filling you want in it, so like fish, shrimp, chicken. They probably have about 20 or so different options just for tacos. Then when they bring out your food there is a buffet line with everything you could want to put on a taco and you fill it yourself. Also another thing, they had a lot of different food here. We only got the tacos, but they actually had a lot of different options! They also have pasta salads and these delicious roasted mini red potatoes! They were the best I’ve ever had and we all kept going back again and...

Bad experience and bland tacos. I ordered one taco for about $4. My wife ordered 3 tacos for $12. My wife had asked about the $8 taco lunch special (no more than 2 minutes after our initial order), but the waitress said that it was too late - the food was already being cooked, and that the taco I ordered was different to what was offered on the lunch special. The waitress then delivered 3 tacos to me, which appeared to match the lunch special (see photo). We decided that the waitress had switched the meal to the lunch special.

I was then billed for 3 tacos. When I asked why, the manager appeared and said that if I ordered 1 taco and was served 3, then I should have returned 2 of the tacos. I explained that I thought I was being served the lunch special. Apparently the lunch special was only 1 taco, and the waitress mistakenly served the 3 tacos.

These things happen, but the manager was rude, disrespectful, and dismissive. Even worse, the tacos were extremely mediocre. The bill for 6 tasteless tacos was $30 (15,000 colones with tax and a 10% “service” charge).

We had visited this restaurant because it had had a very good review on Google. Something must have gone wrong, because both this restaurant and the sibling pizza place next door need an emergency visit from...

Es una verdadera pena lo mucho que ha cambiado este lugar. Después de ser cliente frecuente por casi 10 años llevando gran cantidad de conocidos e incluso clientes y colegas del extranjeros debo decir que el domingo pasado fue la última vez que lo visite. Tuvimos una pésima experiencia, llegamos a las 18:15, ordenamos y todo bien hasta ahí. Había otra familia que había ordenado adelante de nosotros y por ende ellos pasaron a la barra de ensalada antes que nosotros (sirviéndose en varias ocasiones por cierto, tema que deberían controlar), el caso fue que para las 18:30 que nos sirvieron nuestros platos ya no habían opciones de carbohidratos en la barra, y las opciones de ensalada propiamente eran muy pocas. Le hicimos el comentario a los encargados y solamente nos indicaron que "era lo que había y que no iban a sacar más porque cerraban a las 7" (notese que faltaba media hora, tiempo de sobra para preparar una pequeña porción de arroz o unas cuantas papas en caso de contar con la mínima empatia hacia el cliente ) Obviamente solicitamos la devolución del dinero (de mala manera de parte del staff) y nos retiramos del lugar. Desde mi humilde punto de vista les sugiero dos soluciones para que no se vuelvan a presentar situaciones de estas y así no perder más clientes: -Advertir a los clientes que ingresan 1 hora antes de la hora de cierre de que la disponibilidad en la barra de ensalada es limitada y que no se repone a esa hora. Si nos hubieran avisado de esto nosotros hubiéramos considerado si procediamos a ordenar o no. -Controlar de alguna manera lo que se sirven los clientes en la barra (lo que consumió la familia antes que nosotros fue simplemente una exageración, "limpiaron" por completo la barra demostrando una falta de educación y una glotonería sorprendente) Es realmente una pena porque tengo muy buenos recuerdos de experiencias de servicio en el pasado, incluso una vez hace unos años cuando no estaba una de mis ensaladas favoritas disponible en la barra consulte y el chef me preparo una pequeña porción...esos son grandes detalles que lamentablemente quedan borrados por la mala experiencia vívida el...
