Fabra | Best Café in Coco | Featured on House Hunters Int’l — Restaurant in Sardinal

I’m kicking myself that I’ve missed a whole year of delicious Fabra sandwiches. I’m not sure what I was thinking by not eating here sooner, but my family is now making up for lost time!

Our first experience last week was perfect. Friendly greetings and excellent service in a very comfortable, super-clean and modern cafe/restaurant inside the Pacifico Shops.

The hostess/bartender encouraged us to seat ourselves and quickly Marco introduced himself, gave us the short-history of Fabra while the bar whipped us up delicious coffees, smoothies and tropical sparkling waters while we looked over their menu that’s stacked with choices.

The three of us over-ordered and over-ate and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The croquetas, salads, pizza and panini and club sandwiches (and the bread) were all great. The papas fritas aren’t cooked quite enough for my liking, but it’s the tiniest complaint considering how good everything else is…and you could probably ask for them to fry a minute longer.

Two days later, it occurred to us to grab to-go breakfast (sandwiches, fruit bowls, bakery items) on our way to the airport. We WhatsApped our order, gave our timing of 10-minutes and the quick response was “Great - ready in 9!” Food was delicious and it was so convenient.

That afternoon, we were dealing with a flight cancellation and came back home to Ocotal - so of course we went by Fabra and grabbed a couple of sandwiches and another pizza to take with us.

We have been in Coco for 9 days and have eaten at Fabra's three times. We consider ourselves pizza afficianados. I make my own pizza dough from scratch at home. Fabra's pizza is now the best we have EVER eaten. The dough is very light and airy. Just an incredible taste sensation. We ate there a 2nd time and had the spicy vodka pasta and garlic bread. Absolutely amazing. When our friends arrived, we took them there. Had the pasta again. They loved it as well. Great drinks. Check for their different daily specials (ie: buy one pasta get the 2nd pasta 50% off; same with pizza). The portions are huge. We took back leftovers for another night. Service is top notch. This restaurant is EXCELLENT! We went here several times during our stay in Playas Del Coco, and each time the experience was better and better! The manager is very personable and really makes you feel welcome in this space. And the space!! Airy and gorgeous with an ambient outdoor patio, and lovely intimate lighting for after dark. This isnt even touching on the food, which was top tier as well. I cannot recommend this place enough. Everything I tried on the menu was absolutely fantastic, but the staff is what really makes this...
