Mmmmm wow, delicious! I’d seen an outrageously appetizing photo of the Tuna Tartar - a stack of raw tuna, fresh mango and avocado - and I wondered, could the real thing live up to that? And oh did it ever! Jai made one for me using fresh pineapple since mango is not in season. The salty red tuna, marinated in soy, sweet yellow pineapple and creamy green avocado appealed to the eyes and the palate. Jai added a decorative ampersand of teriyaki sauce to accommodate my nightshade allergy - no spicy mayo for me. Read moreThis place is a hidden gem in the tourist zone of El Coco Beach. The guy is super nice and makes fresh sushi that’s amazing and the bowls are super refreshing too. The ambience is a bit scant, you eat on benches right outside a busy local supermarket. But that did not bother us at all. We in fact went to the store to buy the drinks we had with our sushi! The gentleman behind the counter was super welcoming, was very patient with our broken Spanish, and had very quick and friendly service. We bought drinks from the supermarket next door and only waited maybe 20 minutes for our food. Highly recommend the tuna nachos! Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, and everything was spotless....
