Restaurant Đir — Restaurant in Grad Zadar

During my recent visit to Zadar, I had the opportunity to dine at this waterfront restaurant that left a positive impression on me. I got the Dir Burger, which offered a satisfying culinary experience overall.

The burger patty, weighing in at 250g, was cooked to perfection, delivering a juicy and flavorful bite. While I am usually not a fan of heavily seasoned burger meat, I found the spiced seasoning on this occasion to be tolerable and not overwhelming. It surprised me that despite my usual preference, the flavors blended well and didn't detract from the enjoyment of the burger. The sauce and toppings were skillfully executed, adding an extra layer of deliciousness to the overall composition.

The accompanying French fries, although nothing extraordinary, were perfectly adequate. They were standard fries, lacking any unique seasoning or standout qualities. However, they served as a suitable complement to the burger.

I recommend giving this burger a try, although I acknowledge that the taste of the patty might not appeal to everyone.

I would like to commend the staff at the restaurant for their exceptional service. They were friendly, accommodating, and displayed a high level of proficiency in English, making the ordering process and communication seamless and enjoyable.

Overall, my dining experience at Dir in Zadar...

The food is average. View from the terrace is nice, service was ok, but the prices for what the place essentialy is… 20 euro for fried calamari in a “fast food stand on a beach” seems a bit too much to me. If the pricing would change to match the concept of the place, I would be happy with the visit. Like this I felt a little ripped off afterward, as many decent restaurants in the historical center have calamari for 25% cheaper ( which I found out only later…). However, they also have more reasonably priced options in the menu which match the fast food concept, like burgers, and there the price is...

The cooking was terrible, we took a burger and spaghetti with seafood. Dressing wise it was bad but taste wise was worse. The burger patty was of really bad quality, undercooked, the bottom bun was soggy, the sauce was terrible and coming off everywhere. And for the spaghetti it was even worse. The sauce was watery, bad tasting, the seafood itself seemed to come off of the freezer. We hate to waste but we had no choice but to waste the end of the dish. It was that bad. And expensive, for almost 20e a dish, you want at least something eatable. I don't recommend at...
