Bistro Latin Jazz — Restaurant in Trinidad

Paid touts hassle tourists off the street into this place on commission. Food was poor and about treble the cost of other places nearby (check out Doña Clara or the restaurant opposite it for reasonably priced tasty local food). Very bright lighting and tacky decor. Tried to scam us with a terrible exchange rate when we came to pay - we were nearly two weeks into our trip and had been paying in both dollars and pesos so we knew what was going on. If you go there and watch this band, then you are the lucky person who’ve seen one of the best Jazz bands. The pianist and sometimes drummer, is a hidden genius playing in this small place, and one day you might say that you heard this guy playing in a Bistro in Cuba before he became internationally famous! Amazing food and super service. We ordered lobster and ropa vieja and it was stunning. It’s in a great location and the music and atmosphere is top. We came back to have a late night snack and sat outside on a later date....
