I had a very disappointing experience at Columbia Beach tonight. I arrived around 7:30 PM without a reservation, and the place was almost empty — only a few tables were occupied. Despite this, the hostess insisted we could only sit at a small “island” table in an inconvenient spot. When I asked for a better table, she showed me one that was very low and far away from the center, which was not suitable for dining.
I politely asked if we could move to a proper table if reservations didn’t show up (which is common practice in most places), but she refused, saying there was “no such thing as a waiting list.” She kept insisting I go to the reception, saying it would be “very difficult,” and only after I pressed her did she finally say the tables were for more people. So, because we were only two, we apparently weren’t allowed to sit at a table with four chairs — even though most of the tables in the center are for four, and many couples were sitting there as usual previous times. It’s not my fault that the venue chooses to put mostly four-person tables; that shouldn’t be used as an excuse to push guests into the worst spots.
This isn’t the first time. On a previous visit, I had almost the same experience. The staff never mentioned that tables were reserved — instead, they simply tried to seat us at the worst ones. Only after we pointed out better tables in the center did they suddenly agree to move us, and those tables stayed empty the entire night. That shows it’s not about reservations at all, but a repeated pattern of poor treatment.
Also, when I asked the woman responsible for the tables who made this whole issue (blonde, curly hair, light-colored eyes) for her name so I could report the issue, she refused — which is completely unprofessional, especially for a place that promotes itself as high-end.
I choose to leave rather than sitting there after this experience. Overall, I’m very disappointed with the management and the poor customer service. Columbia Beach needs to seriously rethink how it treats its guests if it wants to justify...
Read moreI recently visited the Columbia Beach Club and I must say, the beach itself was absolutely excellent. The nice sands, crystal-clear waters, and overall ambiance made for a perfect day by the sea. The beach staff were also top-notch, always friendly, and accommodating, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a relaxing experience.
When it comes to the food and drinks, I was pleasantly surprised. The quality was very good, and the prices were reasonable, which is always a plus. The menu had a great variety of options, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. Whether it was a light snack or a full meal, we were never disappointed.
However, I have to mention a glaring issue that I encountered during my visit - the hostesses. It seems that most of them are young girls who lack proper customer service training. While they may be attractive and seemingly full of confidence, they seem to forget that they are employed in the service industry. Instead of focusing on making guests feel welcome and ensuring their happiness, they come across as self-absorbed and disconnected.
Their behavior gives off an unpleasant vibe and detracts from the overall atmosphere of the beach club. It is disheartening to witness such unprofessionalism in an otherwise very nice place. It feels as though they believe they are celebrities, neglecting their true role of making guests feel valued and content.
I sincerely hope that the management takes notice of this issue and invests in proper training and guidance for their hostesses. It would greatly enhance the overall experience for visitors and ensure that the fantastic qualities of the Columbia Beach Club are not overshadowed by the negative impression left by a few individuals.
Despite this notable downside, I would still recommend visiting the Columbia Beach Club for its beautiful beach, great food, and friendly beach staff. Just be prepared to encounter some hostesses who could use a lesson in...
Read moreI am quite disappointed with this place. What could have been a good experience turned into a frustrating one. I know 2 stars seems harsh, but let me state my case. We were 3 couples taking a break from our kids. It was a weekday so the place was pretty much empty. We paid the 40 or 60 euros to get the fancy beds and all seemed smooth and good. Then we decided to have lunch. I checked the beach menu, I was in the mood for a burger, and luckly they had what I wanted, we then decided to sit at the reautrant. Long story short I asked if I could order the burger from the beach menu and sit in the restaurant; now keep in mind everyone else was ordering from The restaurant menu, however, they refused as one waiter after another gave me one lame excuse after the other, they even roped in the chef who seemed incapable of getting orders from the beach but delivering it to the resturant, becuae its sooo complicated. Anyway I ended up ordering my burger then carrying it myself from the beach/sunbed area and sitting in the restaurant, which by the way is only a few meters away, cause lame illogical excuses dont work on me. Here is the kicker, I saw the waiter come out from inside the restaurant with my beach burger and took it to our sunbeds, and when we got the bill, all our drinks and food from the sunbed area and restaurant appeared on the same bill!!! Which totaled about 600euros, so what was all fuss and refusal about? What a dumb thing to do to your customers. I decided to write review this cause our money keeps these places open, so columbia club managment do me a favor and treat your clients well and with respect cause we vote with our wallets,...
