I’m trying to understand what the owners had in mind when they opened this place. The decor is absolutely beautiful. Actually on point to transport you to Italy. However it seems that this is the only inspiring thing about it because it seems to work only as a slow take-away or delivery. But the food is not outstanding, they have a dine-in area in the back of the restaurant where there is a large patio with uncomfortable chairs, nice decor but zero ambiance or music, quite hot without air circulation or fan, and a possibility to get pooped by pigeons. The so-called restaurant had no large selection of drinks or cocktails, not even aperol spritz for example. They had no ice when requested (€2.99 for a large bag of ice seems too inconvenient to get). And to top it off, a very creepy waiter that seems to be trying too hard, instead of coming up as friendly and professional, it has a very cringy approach that makes the diners uncomfortable. Owners should take note. So it seems to be a very informal place to eat, nice for instagramers, maybe for a relaxed small lunch, since the portions are bit small. Food arrived at different times so we had to wait 10 mins to eat all together. Food was not very memorable, hit or miss. They were out of some items. Ok no problem. Dessert was the only thing that I could eat there again, it was a nice tiramisu. The owners should stick to interior design decorating instead of food industry, they had no passion or knowledge about this. To finish off you pay at the counter but such prices, I was confused about the concept of the restaurant. I wish them all the best to understand the issues before they close down. What a pity. On the other hand, they can continue selling the decorative goods they sell at the front. Very disappointing place. Too much effort on the decorative side but missed very much...
Read moreI loved the concept and I gave 5 starts because these guys are trying to do something very nice, also, they are serving authentic delicious food made on site, however, I have a couple notes:
1 - Service was a bit slow but probably because it is a small kitchen, but we waited long time for the starters and for the mains.
2 - the waiter that was coming all the times repeatedly saying: “Aaaamazing” became very annoying because he repeated 1000 times…amazing water, amazing cutlery, amazing plates…not fun after a bit and should be stopped.
3 - was surprised as Sicilian that they don’t serve bread, might be a choice, but I think they should.
4 - the back garden is cute, but the heat is unbearable 🥵. We suffered and unless they will do something about having fans and coolers, it is not great.
These are just suggestions for improvement but I would recommend to anyone because these guys have done a nice job putting lots of effort to provide authentic dishes. I hope people will support this place and won’t close. Well...
Read moreOur experience at Palermo was not only below expectations taste and quality-wise but also very unpleasant when it came to the behavior of the staff.
A specific staff member was overly friendly to a point that was borderline harassing and to top it all off asked for our social media accounts on the way out which we found very uncomfortable, harassing and unprofessional.
Regarding the food, the pasta was overcooked and sub-par quality-wise, not what one would expect in a restaurant that boasts to be authentic Sicillian.
Additionally, our order came out wrong, this was because the waiter who took our order instead of focusing on taking the order, was busy focusing on theatrics and calling everything amazing to a point that was annoying and ridiculous and had a very negative effect on our overall perception of professionalism of the staff of the restaurant.
I do not recommend visiting Palermo and I will definitely not...
