I'm very disappointed and sad to leave a bad review for a restaurant that I was so excited to visit...I'm putting 2 stars instead of one just cause of the ambiance and because I had a very nice company and fun that day...the food was not mediocre it was extremely bad...gaspacio was like a tomato juice melamine was standard but without any salt pastas were surprisingly overcooked so the texture and the amount of moisture in the dish was diluting all the flavor... another surprising failure was the pizza which was really bad by all aspects sauce seemed way to sweet and not fresh taste at all dough was hard and dry...not crispy mozzarella was overcooked so it let all the water out and it became like plastic...I'm trying to understand how it's possible to serve a pizza that bad when you re an actual restaurant with big prices...for desert we got the cheesecake...the taste was actually good and balanced but the texture was off seemed like it was not fresh or kept fresh properly...water is 7 euros ehich is way too expensive for not a high end restaurant and the wine list was very simple with normal prices as other restaurants in limassol...service was very nice and polite tho not trained at all and not very professional...mostly I'd say its the organising problem...ofc we had to refill the water and wine which is okay for me but I had to ask for salt in each course and everytime it came in a different way with long waits...I also had to actually call a waiter...not just raise hand but call cause they didn't seem to notice me in times that I needed...I wish I wouldn't sound like this and also to need a waiter so many times...but food didn't have the right amount of salt...in the pasta we didn't get spoons only knife and in the starters the catteries were a little later than the food...ambience is very nice I loved the atmosphere!I wish my experience was a bit better so I would visit the restaurant again but I don't see that happening nor I could recommend it...
Read moreWe have visited Salone Limassol in July, the busiest month in Cyprus. Despite it being quite early in the evening, the restaurant was almost full. Nevertheless, when we asked to relocate inside from the terrace, where we initially booked the table, the hostess has quickly made necessary arrangements and moved us. Since it was our first time in the restaurant, we wanted to try a variety of meals. The menu is of just a right length: one can surely find something to their liking, but won’t get lost in the endless number of choices. Our waitress made the ordering process as smooth as possible. She was very polite and helpful, making an effort not only to suggest the meals that showcased the skill of the kitchen, but also to find the very best option for every single one of us. As well as that she set a mood for our night with her very calm and friendly approach. The waiting time was very short and once we got to try our food, all of us were astonished. Having tried Italian cuisine in many different places around the world, including Italy, we didn’t expect it to be this good. There were 5 of us, each getting a different appetizer, main course and a desert and every single one of those meals had an exceptional taste. Beef tartare with truffle was outstanding. Scallops ceviche was simply amazing, especially the ponzu sauce. Salone pasta was incredible. Tiramisu, despite not being its classic version, broke the hearts. Bravo to the kitchen! The bar has also made a great impression. All aperitifs and cocktails were awesome and refreshing. Overall, Salone made an over-the-top first impression with an excellent service, incredible food and a beautiful atmosphere. Staff’s attention to details from sending informative reservation reminders to giving a precise description of every single item on the menu made our experience very pleasant. Relaxed atmosphere, great food and strong service - this is Salone. Totally...
Read moreVery racist staff!!! We had the most horrible experience at this restaurant!!! The food was delicious but the attitude of the staff was just horrendous. If you are not "Russian", you are treated poorly and God forbid if you are a person of colour (as was our case) then you are treated like trash!!!
The hostess (Anastasia) was the most rude person imaginable. We had a reservation for 12.30 and we arrived in time. We had ordered a few starters and drinks. At 14.35 while we were getting ready to order the main courses, Anastasia came to our table and rudely told us that our reservation was only for 2 hours so we need to sit at the bar counter to finish what we have already ordered or we can pack it and leave since the table had been reserved for someone else at 14.30. We tried explaining that we have not finished our meal yet but she told us that this is the restaurant's rule and if the customers do not finish within 2 hours, they have to shift to the bar and make way for the next customer.
Okay... Even if this was true, do you not think that we should have been notified at least by 14.15? Actually what happened was that some Russian customers had showed up without any reservation and in order to accommodate them, Anastasia decided that the Asian people were the easiest ones to throw out! There were other customers who had arrived even before us but they were not disturbed...but since we were the odd ones out, we were asked to vacate our table even though we were still eating. Our bill was over 160euros for 3 people and we had still not finished our meal...so I do believe that we were not just occupying a table idly!?!? I do hope the management looks into this and stops...
