Honest to God, best sushi I have ever had, and I've been to numerous sushi places all over Europe and North America. If not the best, then certainly much better than the average sushi you get in a restaurant outside of Japan. Chef is extremely talented, all meals were amazing, with great presentation and a taste to match the looks. The restaurant is located in a neat location with lots of shade on the tables. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly! The mojito that they made for me is, as you guessed, best I have ever had. Tables and cutlery were also very clean and great. The best thing about the restaurant is the food definitely, it was a highlight, but the overall atmosphere is also not to be overlooked. Last thing is pricing, I would say for such amazing taste and presentation I couldn't ask for less. An average set of sushi could be anywhere between 6 to 13 euros, but those that are more expensive really offer such great looks and complex flavor. (My favorite is Dragonroll??, Im sorry I can't remember, the picture is a little blurry, but its the one with green sauce on top) This one comes with 8 pieces if I am not mistaken, its a regular sushi with crispy shrimp, cucumber and mango on the inside wrapped in seaweed, with rice over it and spicy avocado sauce with some seasoning on top. It may sound weird, but the first bite had me in a daydream that lasted until the last piece. I mean just wow!!! If you ever want to try the best sushi of your life for an affordable price in a cozy restaurant, Sabay Sushi is my personal pick! I would honestly go back to Cyprus just to have one more...
Read moreThe sushi, salads, and kid's menu were excellent. The Thai dishes lacked some basic ingredients like galangal/ginger, lemongrass, long beans, birds eye chillies, kafir lime leaves, fish sauce, coconut cream, etc. The vegetables were overcooked, or even frozen? It was hard to tell, but it was not properly done and had none of the crispy, acidic, hot freshness that thai cusine is famous for.
Service was excellent, but if you expect authentic thai cooking, you will be (very) disappointed.
Generally speaking, the quality of the food in Pernera and Protaras is more or less like in Benidorm, so if you are looking for decent Asian food, I guess this place is probably the best on offer in both towns. This is simply not a foodie-destination, many Brits here and they don't care for quality, they just...
Read moreThe best! We are locals and since Sabay Sushi opened, we have been regulars. We have had other sushi and asian dishes outside the season, but Sabay is really the best. Why? Flavours are incredible. We do love food, where you can taste what it has been made of, the quality of the ingredients and the love from the Chef when preparing the meal. And Sabay has it all. This is why we are regulars. And we know, that every time we come here, we are in for a really good and tasty meal, served by the really friendly and attentive waiters, it just becomes an absolute top experience! See...
