This place is an institution, and I know some people will be upset by this review, I am one of them because I have been coming here for two decades, and routinely punctuate our holiday at the end with a cold drink here before heading out to the airport.
This time I went mid trip to chill after a bit of a morning and found myself getting back in the car and moving up the road.
So what has gone wrong? Curt staff? Transport café level of sophistication, hotchpotch menu stuck to the windows, obscuring the view inside. Now actually, that isn't such a bad thing, because inside looks like an amusement arcade that the bailiff has visited. Plastic chairs and tables on the patio amount to the seating area, which although has amazing views, it isn't made the most of at all.
I didn't eat, and an altercation between the waiter and a couple of diners who upped and left, sealed my decision and I about turned and went up the road.
Sadly the only thing I have good to say about this place is its location, and yet 2 years ago I would have scored it higher. Maybe that is harsh because they will have had an awful 2 years with no income and probably brought them to their knees; this is why they get a 3 not a 1 because I would hate to kick them whist they were down but ai would like to see some improvement in the next couple of years, back to its...
Read moreFrom the moment you arrive at Arapis Coral Bay, you know you’re in for something special. Perched right by the waves on Coral Bay, the setting is simply breathtaking — ocean views, open air terrace, sun, sky, and sea all around. It’s the kind of spot that turns ordinary weekends into something you look forward to all week. Complimentary fruit plates or dessert gestures here and there make visits more special. Very good selection of dishes — fish, steaks, local mezze — something for everyone. Beautiful view right on the beach, which you enjoy while eating. Staff are warm, attentive, and friendly. They know many of the regulars by now, and it shows in their attentiveness. They move with a genuine pride in their work. Even when the restaurant is busy (as it often is on the weekend), you feel looked after, not rushed, and welcomed, not inconvenienced. It balances relaxation and elegance beautifully. The sound of waves, the warm lighting later in the day, the gentle breeze — it all adds up. It’s casual enough to feel comfortable, but each visit feels like something of an occasion. The view, especially at sunset, is absolutely magical. Prices are fair for what you get. You pay for the location, yes, but you also truly get that plus food and service that match. You leave feeling you’ve had more than just a meal —...
Read moreTwo stars is for location and tasty meze. Although fish meze was having really small fishes, shellfish and clams, and 1 pc from each for each meze (we was informed for that) but because we are visiting many fish taverns we was not waiting so small portions. Salad bread and appetizer was ok in size. Also we faced abrupt behavior from the head water because we was 4 persons and we order only two mezes (we had also some snacks before), and we assume that's why they decided that we don't deserve any fruits at the end of our lunch (maybe thats why they offered also small portions). All the other tables (tables that order also 2 mezes) was offered desert. Also as soon we finished our lunch and we order coffee (that we ask to change them because they made them wrong) 3-4 waitress came to clean up our table really quickly and it was like they wanted us to leave. Please note that when they was cleaning our table were other tables empty and it was lunch time. P. S some of the waitress were really polite...
