We went there with our family of 4 looking for a traditional Cypriot food. When we got there the server insisted on seating us inside even though there was a free table outside, however, we agreed to sit there. We weren’t very hungry so we wanted to try the Cypriot Meze which is their most traditional foods in small portions. The owner, who served us, told us that the portions are so small that we should order 4 whole portions of this Meze. As we’re 3 small girls and 1 guy we cannot eat big portions and we just knew that we wouldn’t be able to eat all that. So we said multiple time that 2 would be enough but he started looking annoyed and even angry and still tried to convince us that it would be soooo little for us. We said that we’d like a big salad as well and the squids (calmari) after he got mad at us. Anyhow, he brought us the 1 liter house wine (that wasn’t full tbh) that we had ordered for the table (after he tried multiple times to make us order a bottle acting like he understood that we want bottle of wine and not the house wine. The wine wasn't enough and didn’t even fill the 4th glass. He also brought intentionally only 3 glasses for the big water that we ordered and we had to ask for 1 more. We would have overlooked all this until he brought the 1 salad (even though we ordered 2 meze menus) and the small starters (store bought dzadziki, houmus, tatama, etc.) We hadn’t been eating them for 10 minutes when the waiter came and started picking them up to take them away even though we were still eating and were almost full. We told him to leave them and he backed off. The he brought by more food and we were sooo full. They were more than enough for the 4 of us and we didn’t even finish the food. He saw that we got mad because the waiter tried to take away the unfinished food while we were still eating it and backed off, avoiding our table for the rest of the night.
At the end he DIDN’T BRING the 2 desserts that WERE PART of the Meze menu that we paid for and of course he didn’t bring any complimentary drinks (like he brought to all the other tables around us). We were ok with not eating dessert but it was very rude not to bring them since they were part of the menu (that “would be sooo little for all of us”).
We paid and left, definitely won’t come back after the rude attitude and him trying to upsell us. The food was pretty tasty though, so he gets 2 stars there - because of the seasoning and...
Read moreAVOID AVOID AVOID! This was a very hairy MEZE. As a Greek Cypriot woman I am appalled at the food and hygiene standards. The quality of food was 0. I found a hair in my food and I also got charged for bread that was burnt. Teeny tiny portions, the food was unacceptable and inedible. The food is frozen plates are dirty and the toilets are filthy. I wish I had taken photos to show you how bad and burnt everything was. When I complained they said they couldn’t do anything about it due to the manager not being there. Me and my husband had a bad stomach and felt like we were going to vomit from what we did eat. THIS WAS NO GREEK MEZE. How can you charge for bread in a meze? This is horrific! The food was tasteless and not fresh. We could have opened a tin of tuna at home as this is what we...
Read moreWent there tonight. All was fine until we got the bill. One of the small plates (grilled halloumi with lountza) we ordered was on it twice. We mentioned this to the owner and he said he brought a double portion, in order to keep everybody happy.
We replied that we only ordered one portion, and got the reply "oh you are a professional". the portion was obviously just one, by the way. all small dishes were 4pieces and so was the "double portion" we received.
It is a pity, the greeks would say "ειναι κριμα"!!!. Τhe atmosphere was nice until we noticed this "mistake"
The owner could have admitted it and we would have happily left a tip. That didnt happen - and we went home with a bad feeling. Will never return.
Really a pity!!! be careful with...
