Santa Marina Fish & Chips & More — Restaurant in Peyia

Went here for breakfast with the family. Very disappointing. We ordered: one jumbo breakfast. One English breakfast. And one Cypriot breakfast. The plates are huge but the food doesn’t fill the plates. Many breakfast items you would expect to see on an English breakfast like mushrooms, hash browns not present, but not listed on menu anyway. The large breakfast was advertised as 1 sausage and 1 saveloy, when it arrived it came with 2 sausages, when I asked the waiter he told me as a company they stopped doing saveloy over 2 years ago. So I asked why he didn’t tell us that when we ordered that specific breakfast? Because then it would give the customer a choice/chance to decide if they still want it or not. He shrugged his shoulders and walked off, no apology, no additional sausage to make up for the size of sausage compared to saveloy, nothing. I did ask for crispy bacon and I got crispy bacon which was decent, but they were very small pieces. The size of the breakfast was just minimal compared to the size of he plate so maybe need to get smaller plates. Had one of the worst experiences here today. The food was excessively oily and the customer services extremely poor. We had ordered a fish meze for two which was pictured beautifully and was recommended to us by the waiter. When we got it everything was deep fried. There was no element of freshness to the fish. Most of it was dry or soggy with oil. We also ordered haddock and chips which was so bland and inedible. After eating a bit we bought this to the notice of the waiter. It was extremely difficult to explain to him what the problem was. We had to squeeze the oil out of the fish to show him why the problem was. He then phones his boss and just doesn't show up again. We waited a while and then went into the restaurant after which he threatened to call the police. This shocked us, we had never seen such appalling customer services. He even shouted back at us saying his boss said he will lose his job because of this. We then just paid the bill and left. Horrible restaurant...

We have been told that this is the best fish and chip place in the area, and they have a great selection to choose from. We opted to start with their seafood cocktail and expected it to come in a small glass dish. No! It came on a good sized plate covered in prawns, mussels, seafood sticks and salad. Unfortunately all lacked a fishy taste, perhaps overpowdered by raw onion amongst the spreaded lettuce. The Captain's Tray to follow was somewhat better. We were pleased to have specified one Captain's Tray and two plates. Even then we couldn't quite finish it all. Other restaurants along the strip were very busy.
