We visited the restaurant two good friends and I last Saturday, the three of us are restaurant lovers and very experienced in restaurants and culinary journeys in the world, one of us used to be a restaurant reviewer for the Gumio guide and I am a chef and really love and enjoy a really good restaurant. I'll start from the end and say that the three of us left with a big smile of contentment and an excellent feeling in our bodies, as you should feel after a good meal, the first thing I'll mention is the hearty and open meal of the owner of the place, we received the right recommendations, a demonstration of great culinary knowledge, matching and great knowledge about the wines of the area and the wines on the menu, Sharing local general knowledge and this while feeling that everything done in the restaurant is very meticulous and precise, not out of artificial pedantry, but out of the love of it. The arvira is pleasant and free, and sitting in the backyard is recommended. From the appetizer, through the basket of warm rolls, the quality butter, the light and precise dips, through the local wine, the fresh oysters, the excellent frog's legs dish, the soft shell crab salad, the lobster tail ravioli and all the surprises along the way to the classic and exquisite desserts, everything was fun and interesting and delicious. The price was definitely not high for the experience, highly recommended, a most enjoyable...
Read moreThis was our second visit to the restaurant. We were lucky to be seated outside due to a cancellation and I personally think there is more buzz and atmosphere outside than inside. We chose to visit on a Saturday and maybe it was a bit of a downfall as it was very busy and at times we felt the service was chaotic and we felt a little bit to be forgotten about. Nevertheless, overall the starters, mains and desserts were outstanding and the presentation was a candy to the eyes. I just wished a bit more explanation what I had on a plate. There was a burst of flavours and colours with my scallops but I ended up guessing some of the flavours. My husband opted for the ribeyed steak and he found it being a bit like braised version than standard seared one. It was tasty but maybe not what he expected. One of the kids chose pizza and the cheese was too strong for being a kids menu item. However, overall the dining experience was lovely - the food and presentation combined . The wine was delicious, the port was lovely and a complimentary strawberry limoncello was a cherry on a top. We are certainly visiting again, coming with two small kids you still always feel very welcome which often is not the case in some other places. Lovely dining experience and thoroughly...
Read moreOwned and run by a lovely couple. In a backstreet away from the bustle of the main Coral Bay strip. Good ambience, parking a bit limited but OK. We were surprised at the prices which were very high, but assumed that the quality of the cooking - all freshly prepared to order - would warrant the cost. We ordered the seafood spaghetti at €32 each. We were very disappointed. It was all presentation and no substance. A couple of mussels, a few clams - well we assume they were there as we saw empty shells; a couple of prawns with no shell removed at all and a very small crab to crack yourself but then discover it was empty. So it turned out to be the most expensive bowl of just rather tasteless spaghetti we've ever had. We didn't bother...
