If you came to Cyprus for a cheap get away and want to try some authentic Thai Food, this is probably the only restaurant in the country that checks all the boxes of a great Thai dining experiences. Sarana who is the co-owner or manager greeted us at the table and made us feel at home immediately. She even asked us if we wanted Thai food off the menu (assuming we were Thai) she would be able to have the cooks make it. I was shocked to hear this because usually some Chinese restaurant would say this as well from where I come from and this would be an indicator of the skillfulness of the cooks.
Thai restaurants are measures by how flavorful their curries and papaya salad are. With Thai curry being one of my favorite foods, this place has it spot on in it's flavor profile. Auromatic, beautifully presented, and fresh off the stove. Ingredients like galanga and lemongrass are skillfully used I the dishes. You can be assured that none of your food was reheated and that everything was made from scratch. I was disappointed when I had to order the rice seperatly because the curry cannot be eaten without it. It would be weird eating the curry alone. The pad thai noodles was great but didn't have an awe factor. You cannot complete a Thai dining experience without having the papaya salad and mango sticky rice. This is a must.
When ordering here, just know that their standard of spicy is "Thai spicy". Unless you know what that means you should only order the most mildest level of spiciness.
The only gripe I had was that we ordered noodles for my son from the kids menu and recieved what seemed to be noodles from a package (like instant noodles) with fried eggs and sliced chicken . We didnt mind because our child liked that stuff but it was a bummer to see. It Doesn't take anything away from our experience.
In the end Sarana gave me the awesome privilege to go to the back and greet the chefs in their language. Sure enough they are Thai. If you are in the Paphos city center area, it would be worth the drive.
Portions are minimal like any fine dining experience and curries does not come with rice. it must be ordered separately. Expect to pay an average of 9 euro per dish and around 18 euro for seafood dish. We finished around 62 euro with a kids plate, pad Thai, spring roll, papaya salad, 2 curry dish, and mango sticky rice.
Wish we had photos. We were too...
Read moreSome of the best Thai food I've ever in any country, and probably one of the better meals I've ever had in my life.
Service was fantastic with the staff being attentive (and one of young waiters being literally hilarious), the food was fresh, delicious and perfectly sized.
The chicken satay starter was excellent, as were the spring rolls, but the prawn tempura was absolutely stand out. I usually won't eat prawns, but it was so good I had to have a second helping. The green curry was wonderful - full of flavour and so comforting it made me want to hug it. For me the standout dish though, is the Beef Salad. Amazing flavour combinations, fresh, wonderful and spicy in all the right ways.
We ate here last night as a group, and had such a good meal I took a 40 minute diversion on my way home today to get some takeaway. We're now an hour away from the restaurant with an hour left of our drive home, and all I want to do is turn around and get some.more of their wonderful food.
Massive thanks and respect; I look forward to being anywhere close in the future so I can eat...
Read moreThis is the 2nd time we've been here. 1st was not long after the initial opening, and the experience wasn't good. Service was seriously lacking, and we actually left after 1 drink as we waited so long. After tonight, we definitely won't be back, we hoped this place would redeem itself, but no! 1 person taking drink orders, 1 person for taking food and payments, and 1 for serving and clearing up. The table was cleared after the starters, taking away the cutlery used and not replaced when the main course arrived. When we pointed out that we required cutlery, knives were brought, i ended up with more knives than a Ninja Turtle! We couldn't actually start the main course till forks were replaced. Had to chase for the bill and then again chase up paying, i ended up walking up to the bar to pay so we could leave.
Bad experience that we won't be repeating!
It's a pity as it...
