Samisen Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant Coral_Bay — Restaurant in Peyia

This isn’t mine and my partners usual type of thing - if we were in England we wouldn’t have batted an eye lid but this changed our minds!

On arrival, the hostess was so lovely and accommodating the whole time! All the staff were and it was lovely.

Me and my partner were craving sushi and we weren’t disappointed!

We didn’t go for the original things we had our mind set on before coming to the restaurant because after looking at everyone else’s, we got FOMO.

We ended up getting a platter between the two of us and it was soooo much food for the price! They were very attentive to my gluten allergy and kept checking in I was okay with everything (even tho I may have a slyed a couple of things but that’s not a story for the internet 😅). Their GF soy sauce was B A N G I N G. Usually GF soy sauce is dead but this was almost the same as a normal one 😍.

We saw a couple of the shows whilst we were picking what we wanted to have and the chef made it so suitable to each person. The table we saw had children on and they kept their attention the whole time. When it came to ours, it was lucky enough to be just the two of us on the table so it was more intimate and felt like a private showing, but the jokes and banter going in between were absolute knee slappers!

The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely and each staff member were absolute diamonds! Was super fun to get up behind the grill and do a couple of bits or be involved from behind the grill which made super cute memories for us. I don’t think there was a moment I wasn’t smiling, laughing or mesmerised!

If you’re around this area or plan on coming here, definitely do it!

My partner and I are both coeliac and we had a fabulous experience with samisen! I got in touch in advance and asked if they had gluten free options on offer and they said they did but they’d have to be prepared in the kitchen which was absolutely fine given cross contamination risks, we were still allowed to watch the live cooking which was brilliant! So entertaining and really impressive, it was our chef’s first day and he did absolutely brilliantly. Gluten free soy and teriyaki sauce and we were shown which items on the menu could be made gluten free. We both had the salmon teriyaki (absolutely stunning!) The communication was top notch, all of the staff who were serving us throughout the evening were made fully aware that we were gluten free and we didn’t have to worry at all! The food was incredible and beautifully seasoned, I can’t stand mushrooms but even they were tasty! Couldn’t recommend more, gluten...

My partner and I were both very disappointed by this place. In spite of winning an award from Trip Advisor I am sorry to report that this place is both poor quality and not tasty at all. Tired of the same two restaurants in our hotel we decided to venture out and check out this restaurant which made it into a ten best restaurants in Cyprus list. We decided to order one sushi roll each to check the quality of the place before ordering more food and they were bad. The fish was cheap and the place smelled like store bought teriyaki. We swallowed what we could and got the bill as quick as possible. While I admit that we didn't get to see the entertainment aspect of this place, restaurants, in my view, are first and foremost about the food and this place just had bad food.
