We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Asimina Suites with our 16 year old son, after a very last minute decision and booking with Jet2.||Overall summary:|A lovely 5 star hotel with amazing staff, great food, wine and cocktails. We stayed all inclusive in their Executive One Bedroom suite with Garden View and Private Pool. ||We arrived very early (around 02:00) on Saturday morning, due to a delay leaving Birmingham. The gentleman on reception warmly welcomed us and said to return after breakfast in the morning, no rush, for a proper introduction. ||On arrival at our room we had been left 3 plates of cold meat, salad and cheeses because we missed dinner, which was a lovely thought. There was also a bottle of Red wine and plenty of water.||Room:|We had a 'Garden' view suite (No. 118) which looked out over a small garden and hedge. As this was last minute there wasn't the option for a sea view. ||Our room was spacious, as the pictures on here depict, split between the main bedroom and lounge area, which had a lovely Sofa bed set-up for our son. Outside on the decking I was quite surprised by the size of the pool off the lounge area. Perfectly ok for a few small lengths and great for a mid-late afternoon relax before getting ready and heading out for pre-dinner drinks. The facilities in the room were good with a small mini-bar (all free for the first use), robes, slippers etc as you'd most likely expect from a 5*. ||Maybe user error but I was never able to get the rain shower temperature right for very long, it was either too hot or too cold and not at all powerful. On hindsight I think there may have been an issue with the system somewhere. The hand-held shower attachment worked very well and in contrast was very powerful. Just a shame there wasn't a holder on the wall at a height which would allow the use of this as an alternative, rather than having to hold the shower attachment. I did mention this to the reception, who were very helpful, but as it was only 1 day before we left I didn't pursue with the maintenance team and we continued to use the hand-held attachment.||For me personally, now we have been, I wouldn't book another Suite with a Garden view. The room deck was in the shade a lot of the day (which may be a benefit for some) and there was nothing to look at, except a hedge, again some will see this as a benefit for privacy. See some pictures attached. That said, it was still a lovely room.||The sea facing suites, well at least some, have steps from their deck down to the pool and restaurant area and have the benefit of pool waiter service to the room. If you have one of these room you don't really need to sit by the pool, if you don't want too. You also get the use of a Cabana on the beach. We booked one for 3 days and only used it for a few hours in the end as it was better around the pool.||Restaurants:|In essence there are 2 restaurants. The Estia for breakfast and buffet dinner and Kymata, near the beach. ||There is an 'A La Carte' restaurant but this was really just an extension of the indoor Estia restaurant in a slightly separate area, with a different menu. We ate there one evening and whilst the booking system said there was limited availability it turned out that there was only us and one other couple in there. This seemed to be constant across our stay. People were either at Estia for the buffet or Kymata. We didn't bother with the A La Carte again as the atmosphere was better for us in the other 2 restaurants. Both with live music.||The buffet was always very well presented and had lots to choose from. This is only open for breakfast and dinner, not lunch.||Kymata had a good menu for both lunch and dinner, again the quality of food and preparation was always excellent. ||There is also another bar/seating area by the pool where you can have lunch/drinks during the day, or sit at your lounger and have lunch.||The staff across all venues were always very attentive, friendly and made you feel very welcome at all times.||Bars:|VIP Bar had nightly live music and was a good place to sit and have a few post-dinner drinks. It was never busy, but that might have been down to the dates we were there. As always, staff were excellent, making sure that you were always looked after.||Lounge Bar was always quiet, except for an Elvis night. I don't think I saw anybody in there apart from that.||Sports bar, again, always quiet. We watched some of the Women's football and there was just another couple in there. That said, service was always great. No matter where you were the team seemed to be know where you were and so you weren't left waiting for anything.||Summary:|Over the course of the last 7 nights we have been treated to some fantastic food & drink, exceptional service and great surroundings.||If you want a relaxing holiday this place delivers 100%.||Big question, would we come again - Yes, absolutely and we are already...
Read moreNot sure if management read the reviews as most of the replies are the same but I wanted to give you our opinion of this lovely resort.||We arrived at midnight to the Asimina due to our flight being delayed. We were told our cases would be taken straight to our room and given our key and told to check in tomorrow morning after breakfast which was great as we were very tired. We were offered a plate of food which would be brought to our room as we had missed dinner, but we declined as we just wanted to unpack and go to bed. But it was a kind gesture.||First impressions of our room were wow! So spacious and clean! Yes, it’s a little dated but so what it was spotlessly clean. We had a one-bedroom Suite with front sea view which was great. ||Towels were changed twice daily. You get two beach towels each in the room which you can change throughout the day if you wished by the pool. There is a turn down service in the evening when they change towels for a second time and leave a bottle of water each by your bed. Being all inclusive we didn’t really need the water every day so told the maid not to worry about leaving any after we had accumulated a few bottles. At another hotel in Paphos we used to have a chocolate left on our pillow at turn down which we would have preferred but that’s just us.||The only gripe we had was that men had to wear closed shoes in the buffet. We would expect it in the A la Cartes but not in the buffet. A nice pair of sandals we think would have been ok. (We agree no flip flops/sliders). My husband came unprepared because we had done our research even downloading the app before we went and no where did it say closed shoes for the buffet restaurant. So, my husband had to wear the shoes he travelled in for 12 nights and go out and buy extra trainer socks. If it had been mentioned anywhere then he would have been prepared. It didn’t spoil our holiday but would have been nice to have known so he could’ve packed an extra pair of shoes and more socks. ||Sunbeds…….There was NO race whatsoever for sunbeds!! We only saw two people reserve their space on the grass area at 7am goodness knows why?!? There was really no need at all. We would go down at 9am and only a handful would have been taken. Even in the afternoon there was lots on the grass area free. It was brilliant!! So relaxing!!||The gardens and pool area are kept immaculate and cleaned every morning. Everywhere is spotless. The gardens overlook a small beach. We didn’t go on the beach or in the sea as it looked a bit rocky and you’d need water shoes but plenty of people did. We were happy in the lovely pool.||We loved the food at lunch in the restaurant overlooking the sea the portions were large, so we did end up sharing as we didn’t need too much to eat in the middle of the day.||There was a good selection in the buffet restaurant in the evenings but we both struggled as we are quite fussy. I would have liked to have seen maybe a Spaghetti Bolognaise or Spaghetti Carbonara in the evenings sometimes as the Carbonara at lunch was delicious. But we never went hungry there was always something to choose! Greek night was brilliant…we loved their Moussaka and the best bit the fried dough balls (Loukomades I think) for dessert!! We did eat a lot of those!! And the Greek dancing was very entertaining.||The entertainment in the hotel was mainly singers which were all very good. We would spend our time in the VIP bar where the waitress got to know our drinks😊||All the staff were super friendly, and you wanted for nothing. At breakfast they would bring our drinks over without us having to say what we would like. Mahamoud (sorry if spelt wrong) was so friendly chatting away to us while making our omelette’s. At breakfast there was a good selection of food to choose from.||The hotel is a five-minute walk from a couple of shops and a handful bars/restaurants and just a short bus ride to the harbour. If you want to walk in the heat you can get to the harbour along the prom. Although we did walk quite a way in the evenings, we never quite made it to the harbour area.||We had a late flight and were able to keep our room on which was great as it meant we could enjoy our last day then shower before getting picked up.||It was one of the most relaxing holidays we’ve had in a long time😊……Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Each and every one were super friendly.||As soon as we got home, we booked to return next July and can’t...
Read moreThis is a such wonderful hotel where everyone goes out of their way to make the whole experience special for you. I have split this review up, which I hope you find helpful:-||Location: The hotel has a sea front position with a promenade that stretches to the harbour. It is a beautiful walk that takes you past a number of hotels. Go in the evening as the sunsets are incredible. It took us 40 minute to walk (one way) but well worth doing and I did stop to take lots of photos.||Clientele: When we arrived (mid June) there was as definitely a more mature demographic, however, as the week went by, I noticed there was a different mix of ages. My daughter (21) was by far the youngest but given we both wanted a quiet, relaxed and luxurious break - this is exactly what we got. If you did fancy something more upbeat, there are some lovely bars further along the promenade. ||Rooms (land view): Lovely large room with 2 bathrooms and house keeping attended twice a day. We booked a land view but did have a partial sea view which was nice but it was so hot, we didn’t sit on the balcony at all. Unless you are one to sit on your balcony, I personally wouldn’t pay extra for a pool view. Once we got back to hotel each day, we’d go out for drinks/dinner and spend our evening enjoying the views from the VIP bar, restaurant and gazebo. ||TIP take your own shampoo and conditioner. The hotel provides this but it was not moisturising enough for me or my daughter and we ended up buying some.||Sea: There are flat rocks to get into the sea but the hotel does have a pontoon for you to access the sea (if you don’t have sea shoes) which is just behind the pool. ||Pool: There are 2 pools, which are connected, so you can swim between them, so technically is just one big pool. Twice a day there is an aqua class in the smaller pool where it can be accessed by steps (rather than ladder as in the bigger pool). No diving as the pool is not deep enough. There are midday smoothies/juice and you also get iced flannels to keep you cool, which is a nice touch. ||Sun loungers: Whilst there are plenty of sun loungers, people do come down early and put towels on them (which really annoys me especially when they don’t appear until after lunch!!!). There are loungers all around the pool, on the grassed area and a few on the beach, so no need to be selfish and reserve. There was only one day I could not find a lounger (I came down at 12) but the pool attendant found me a couple of loungers that whilst being “reserved” had not yet been used, so he moved the towels. There is also smoking/vaping permitted around the pool but we noticed that many smokers went away from the pool to smoke.||Food: We went all inclusive. Breakfast is a buffet. Lots of choice and you can have fresh omelettes as the chef is on hand. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Lunch is at the restaurant by the sea and is not a buffet. You can have “snacks” by the pool bar but it is the same menu as the restaurant. Dinner - here you have 3 choices of buffet and 2 restaurants (the latter two you need to book at 9am the night before in the app - we never had an issue booking). The evening buffet has a nice choice but our favourite was the restaurant by the sea. Lovely food, service and stunning view. ||Entertainment: This is low key and discreet, which I really liked, such as a saxophonist, pianist and traditional guitarist. There were 2 more energetic nights which involved Elvis and then traditional Cypriot dancers. ||Summary - I would 100% return. The hotel is lovely but the staff make this experience very special: they are very skilled in making you feel special, from remembering your room number to knowing what drink you like at lunch time. It’s the extra touches that made this week...
