TL;DR: Service ruined our visit, food was great, but we were charged for things we haven't ordered.
Service in this place is a joke. They have menus in three languages (Czech, German, English), but looks like nobody speaks any other than Czech. At least that was the case during our visit - the waitress serving our table didn't know English at all, so I assume there was nobody speaking this language. All in all, if you have a guest speaking a foreign language, you should pick someone capable of taking an order.
Ordering food was quite funny, at least until our plates came. Because the waitress couldn't understand us, we had to point at menu entries to order. Lemonades were very good, but instead of a salad with a salmon and vegeterian mini-gnocchi, we received greek salad with a feta cheese and gnocchi with (most likely) pork tenderloin. In general, food was rather fine, but it's worth mentioning that this greek salad is quite disappointing in size (especially if you have in mind it should be 400g, according to the menu). It's literally a single tomato, half of a cucumber, half of red and orange peppers, 3-4 olives of both a black and green colour, a little bit of a red onion and tiny 4 pieces of a salad.
Speaking of salad, one of the salad pieces had a small caterpillar sneaking somewhere in it. It moved after touching the salad piece and made us unwilling to eat anymore. Because the waitress couldn't understand a single sentence in English when taking an order, we decided to just empty our lemonades, pay and leave.
After coming back to the hotel room, we discovered that we've been charged for dishes that we haven't ordered nor received - picture of the bill in attachment. This never happened to me before and I have no words for that. I don't know whether that was done on purpose, because we're foreigners, but we can only say one thing - if you're not familiar with Czech language, choose other restaurants, so maybe you will receive something you really wanted to eat.
That's a shame, because the food itself was great - tenderloin was really soft, gnocchi were tasty, vegetables in salad fresh, lemonade was impressive and made us say 'wow' after...
Read moreIts been our 4th or 5th time here and every time we really enjoyed our visit. As a couple with a small child we always felt welcomed here, plus there are a few toys available for Kids to play. Being german but conversating in english, neither was a problem here as the waiters and waitresses could understand us easily. In our 4 years of visiting, the menu changed regularly, but always had local and modern food at the same time. The food was always delicious and tasted fresh. I have to give credit to the cooks. The place itself and its atmosphere are cozy and inviting. We love to come here and will definitely come again. I wonder how the place feels on a (weekend) evening,...
Read moreLocation good - near castle. Food great - delicious, we received our order in 10 minutes. Service really bad, waiter was terrible (maybe we just were lucky to have a terrible waiter), bartender was great. Be prepared they this restaurant has 4 menus in English, there were one table with 4 people who didn’t speak Czech language and we waited until they ordered. Would I recommend this place under one condition - when you have one day visit please visit this place because next time you wouldn’t want...
