Was hoping for a great time based on other reviews but ended up mostly disappointed and unhappy. Overly pushy waiter kept pushing schnapps, which I did not want (he kept trying to add it when I requested a beer and then later ordered an entree). He did end up adding an appetizer, also not wanted, that wasn't very good (fries were dry and hard), that I ended up getting charged for. Manager, "to make up for the bad (and unwanted) appetizer", went ahead and brought over schnapps (also and still not wanted). Entree was ok but lacked flavor other than salt. I'd been hoping the different types of potatoes would help redeem the experience, but they just ended up being five types of essentially baked potatoes with different toppings, none of the mashed or au gratin/scalloped potatoes shown in the photos of this place. While I get that the menu's constantly changing, this was a final let down. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. I do not like feeling like I have to fight off things being added to my order (I literally came for an entree with the different potato dishes and a beer). Sadly, the pushiness left me on edge for the rest of my time in Prague. In reading a few other, less-positive reviews, some have noted excessively pushy staff, so be forewarned that this is a trend here. There's a line between helping patrons feel welcome and leaving them feeling cornered, and this place doesn't seem to understand where that line is. Maybe the hard push for schnapps is to get patrons drunk enough that they can be taken advantage of? While the food was ok, in the context of the whole dining experience, it wasn't great and it should not fall on the customer to be on constant guard when coming to a restaurant to avoid getting ripped off or things they...

My original problem with the restaurant was the complete absence of vegetarian/vegan options. I was told by the manager that any dish can be adjusted on the spot, or that something improvized can be cooked. That is apparently no longer an option. Instead, the restaurant offers one vegetarian dish and a salad. If you ask me, still pretty underwhelming considering the fact that the restaurant is about potatoes.
The poor vegetarian options aside, the quality of the food is just on another level. It feels like everything is cooked fresh using fresh ingredients. I have never had a meat dish there that would taste like from the previous day (very common in Prague restaurants).
However, what this place does the best is the lunch menu. Wide selection of dishes (of Czech or Czech-like cousine), taste is suberb. Traditional czech desserts like they were made by your grandma. Priced like in 2014. I just wish they would have at least 1 vegetarian option every day.
My little issue with the place is the overal vibe. It tends to get overcrowded and super-loud. If you can, try and book a table in a quieter part of...
