Well, 40kr (5,50€) for a coffee this size (cappuccino!) I asked two things to one of the guys working:
1.- why do you steam the milk with a machine (automatic machine, not the steamer from the coffee machine), which the guy at the cash desk didn’t know what to reply, just saying: “then we have more time to smile at you”... like I’m paying for coming to see smiles instead of getting a good service and a good product
2.- is the cappuccino with two shots? No the extra shot is 4kr (0,80€). I see that the coffee industry is growing exponentially, and the profits you make are already huge, why are you asking 4kr for an extra shot that anyway you will throw away?
In my opinion, trying to be a sustainable coffee company, trying to bring to the world the specialty coffee to everyone instead of drinking Nescafé, then don’t act like Starbucks...
I think if you want to make better this world making quality coffee for people that doesn’t have any idea of what specialty coffee is, this is not the way, because just for this kind of reason, things are just getting expensive all around the world...
For the rest I have to say the coffee was actually good, had a good taste, but a cappuccino with 1 shot you just feel the...
Read moreFollowing the recent renovation, we noticed a significant decline in the quality of espresso-based drinks at La Cabra. The introduction of coffee faucets, which allow for coffee to be produced at the push of a button, has replaced the traditional method of a skilled barista grinding, tamping, and crafting espresso drinks on a proper espresso machine. This shift has had a noticeable impact on the overall quality of the drinks.
For instance, our recent cappuccino lacked the usual richness and body that we have come to expect from La Cabra. Instead, it tasted more like a diluted filter coffee with steamed milk. The absence of the characteristic mouthfeel was disappointing, and it failed to live up to the standards we were accustomed to.
La Cabra has been our go-to place for quality espresso-based beverages and food. Unfortunately, our recent experience with the sub-par cappuccino has left us unable to recommend it any longer. We hope that the establishment can address these issues and return to the high standards we...
Read moreAs a coffee lover (my entire kitchen is practically a coffee shop) I really like places that control their entire supply chain when it comes to their beans, and even better if they roast themselves.
I’ve had coffee at La Cabra a few times as I live right next door - and although their coffee is great, it feels as if their focus is not entirely on the coffe but also in all the other products they offer - this can be tasted. It also seems as if their prices are artificially high. I missed some of the aroma and most of the oil in their beans. When getting coffee at La Cabra or making it at home, it just didn’t seem entirely as premium as they advertise, and that’s a shame!
I recommend la cabra as the combined package of fantastic bread! Really, fantastic bread! And good coffee is great and impossible to find anywhere else. But for the hardcore coffee lover, I’d still suggest Stillers Coffee down the street.
Let’s see if this changes over time, then I’ll...
