Was very excited to try the reincarnation of Toldboden as it is such an idyllic spot to sit outside on the Copenhagen harbor. Could not have been more frustrated with the experience. Our group of 8 was originally squished into a table with three to a bench seat and two at the ends facing the parking lot. We were then moved to the "deck" and still with the awkward 3-man bench seats. While paper menus are at each table, to order you must scan a QR code and place your order linked to your specific table number.

Each person or pair can order for themselves from the 7 separate little restaurants inside. We wanted to sample a little something from several - but here's the flaw in the concept. After pre-paying for your food from your phone, you await a text message that each item is ready to pick up. Unless you remember exactly what you ordered from each place - and with no pictures on the app - it's difficult to keep track of which dish was ordered from where as the text message doesn't tell you what item is ready.

Once you've tracked all of your orders down, you have be a professional server yourself carrying back all the specially plated small dishes back to your table or go back 5-6 times (depending on how many dishes you ordered.)

It's disruptive to the dining experience - especially in a group. We all ate at different times - and sometimes main before starters. Half the time, someone at the table had to excuse themselves to go pick up their next dish after disrupting the other two diners on your shared (awkward) bench seats.

Servers are supposed to take drink orders and bring to your table, but we found it quicker to get from the bar ourselves. Some of the dishes were delicious, but others mediocre for the price. I wouldn't recommend. I would be fine ordering and paying via an app, but then servers should bring out the food. It didn't seem like the concept cut down on man-power, but upped customer...

My wife and I were seated outside and given menus. A couple came five minutes later sitting to our right and were given water , menus and information. This was done by the female server who cleaned our table and seated us.Then a couple sit behind us with the same service . Ten minutes later a couple were seated to my left. Fifteen minutes after we were seated I asked the male server taking their order if someone would take our order and bring water. The couple on my right were presented their food. Our drinks were brought and my wife went to the bathroom. My Shrimp Quesadilla came . My wife’s Charcuterie did not. We waited another 15 minutes with the couple to my right finishing their meals. Myself not touching the Quesadilla. My wife got up and told the male server that took our order that we were leaving. He asked if he could check on her order and she told him that we had been ignored enough and that we were leaving . Several minutes later we got up and told the girl who sit us and took care of the couple beside us that we were leaving . That we were not paying for the food that came and the drinks that were sipped on. She looked at us and said ok. This review is on lack of service only .Ive given less than a handful of bad reviews on this platform. Other than one bite of the Quesadilla we did not get to...

I had dinner at Seaside Toldboden with all of my colleagues, and we went for the multi-course menu where you get dishes from all the different restaurants inside. The concept is cool – it's fun to try a bit of everything – and there were a few highlights, especially from the Asian kitchen. The onigiri and the fresh spring rolls were genuinely tasty, and probably the most memorable part of the meal. We also had a variety of salads, which unfortunately didn’t stand out at all, and some platters with different types of meat. The only one that really had any flavour was the beef steak – the rest were pretty forgettable. Oddly enough, the corn was one of the best parts of the whole meal. Dessert was a big letdown. I had the sticky rice with mango, and it was honestly the worst version I’ve had. The rice was dry, lacked any coconut flavour, and the mango was super sour. If you've ever had proper sticky rice in Thailand, this was nothing like it. The setting is lovely – it’s a beautiful building and a cool space – but the loud music made it really hard to have a proper conversation, even with the person right next to you. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t leave much of an impression either. The idea of Seaside Toldboden is better than the actual experience.

While I understand that Tolbod is more of a tourist and event space than anything, we were pretty astounded by the seriously terrible service and the lack of instructions. When we arrived, there's nothing explaining that if you order at the counter, you have to eat in one area, and if you want a waiter, you sit in another area. After finally getting an explanation, we sat down in the waiter section, and waited. And waited. And waited. This is after they just told us to go sit down there and someone would be right over. We literally got up to leave when someone finally came back over. It was the last time we saw them, because even after ordering and waiting another 15 minutes for our beers, and another 15 minutes for our food (just smørrebrød), we never had anyone come back over. To make matters worse, everyone else was experiencing the same thing, and many of us commented to each other that we were perfectly willing to order more drinks, but when we got up to go order them, we were told we had to wait for a server. Perhaps it's a different situation for brunch (which I guess it's known for), but if you're open during the day for lunch, then provide the service for it. Only come here for a drink, food was meh.

We picked the perfect day to visit this seaside restaurant by the pier—the sun was shining, and the venue’s large glass windows created a bright summer vibe. The spacious interior added to the relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a long meal by the water. They were running a shellfish festival deal, which we couldn’t pass up. Service was polite but not particularly remarkable, due to them feeling a bit rushed and confused during our visit, with a few mistakes to the order. That being said, the food more than made up for any service hiccups. The shellfish platter was incredible—a generous spread of shrimp, blue mussels, scallops, snow crab legs, along with delicious dips, fresh bread, and crispy fries on the side. Every bite was packed with fresh, oceanic flavors, and enjoying it while gazing out at the water made the experience even more special. While the service could be improved, the food and ambiance were top-notch. If you’re looking for a great seafood meal with a stunning seaside view, this place is definitely worth a visit!
