I ate there with a group of 8 people and I will say that the food was pretty good. The dumplings were flavorful, the chili oil had a nice Smokey sesame flavor, the curry noodles were had were amazing, and also the drinks. Where I say it was majorly lacking was the pacing of the meal and the portion size of the cucumber salad for 75 kr I think (it was about 1/4 of a cucumber on a small plate lol). First of all it took about 10 minutes for the drinks to get to the table, which is okay but still we all biked and were pretty thirsty. After the drinks came out the pacing of the food was completely off and completely ruined the experience for me at least. First comes out an individual soup (for me) and the cucumber. So most people did not have food to start with which makes the dynamic weird and we were forced to ration. Then after we finish that one plate of 4 dumplings comes out (again for 8 people) making it difficult for everyone to try something or even just have food on the plate. This continued for the rest of the meal with only limited options on the table at once with no real flow or reason for what was on the table at once. Our drinks became empty twice during the meal and no one was checking on us to refill them. Not to mention we paid 105 Kr fro 3 pitchers of water.
Overall the food was good but the service was pitiful. I would come here again to give it another try but not with a large party, they seemed over their head in this regard.
My thesis food was fine service was poop which made the overall...
Read moreI’ve been to Hong’s Special in Frederiksberg a couple of times now, and it’s quickly become my go-to spot for dim sum in Copenhagen. The atmosphere is relaxed and stylish without trying too hard, and the staff are genuinely friendly, you feel welcome from the moment you walk in.
The dim sum is clearly handmade and full of flavor. My favorites so far have been the shrimp Hagaw, chicken siu mai, and the crispy chicken flower balls. Everything comes out fresh and steaming, and the menu also includes some larger dishes like beef Ho Fan and roast duck, both worth trying.
They manage to keep it authentic without being stiff. It’s the kind of place where you can drop in casually or take friends for a proper dinner. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon, probably with an emptier stomach and a longer list of...
Read moreAfter three weeks travelling through Scandinavia, I was seriously craving the familiar taste of home — and this place absolutely delivered. Every dish was spot on, both in flavour and presentation. This wasn’t just good Chinese food “for Europe” — it was genuinely authentic, comforting, and absolutely delicious.
The staff, including the boss, were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food arrived quickly. You can tell there’s real care and pride in what they do.
Special shoutout to their homemade chilli oil — fragrant, punchy, and the perfect addition to round out every bite.
If you're in Copenhagen and missing a proper, flavourful Chinese meal, this spot is...
