Café Kaiser — Restaurant in Helsingør Municipality

The good first.

Very charming little restaurant located in the middle of a bustling pedestrian street. Service was quick and easy, and the waiters were smiling and friendly. There were many delicious brunch options (though I did not get the brunch, my friend did) as well as many very nice-sounding options in general.

Now the bad.

I ordered the vegan kaiser pokebowl, and it just kind of sucked. There was a surprising lack of rice. It was essentially just a salad with a small amount of rice on the side. The rice were even undercooked, which is WILD for a dish that cost 159 DKK. The mango was also unripe. It was also a surprisingly small portion for the abovementioned sum. I did not have my hunger sated. There was even a tiny hair in my food which I just feel should not happen at a premium location like this.

Though the dish wasnt all bad. The dressing used on the dish was quite tasty and the falaffels were very delicious. The rest of the ingredients were also all acceptable.

So, don't order the pokebowl. My friend got the brunch and got some absolutely stellar dishes that both looked and tasted fantastic... for the same price as my dish. If you have money to spare, I can still recommend this place, though just don't go for any dishes containing rice. Because my dish was frankly just...

Walking through Helsingor on a rainy day after hiking and visiting the castle, I found this place and it was exactly what I needed.

Nice, warm and relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and good beer. I had the roast pork with potatoes and pickled beetroot, which was served as a huge portion and listed as 'all you can eat' so I had seconds. It was all cooked well, and was very tasty. As a tourist, I felt the prices were fair for what I received.

For a small restaurant in Helsingør just off the waterfront, Kaiser was a great place to end a day trip up from Copenhagen. The beer selection was about five (two primarily from Royal), and both rounds were served up quickly (fewer than 5 minutes each time). The food was delicious, fries were perfectly done, and the burger w/ goat cheese (as in a full cm thick disc if cheese), mushrooms and pickled red ongions was amazing. I wish restaurants in Copenhagen were this well priced, staffed, & friendly. Great...
