Service was subpar, took forever for them to take my order and take care of my check. To top it off the food was terribly bland and lacked any type of seasoning. I've never had to add salt/pepper to anything I've eaten in Denmark so far except this place. The butter was ice cold, impossible to spread on the roll. The salad dressing was almost non existent and I am still confused on what type of dressing it was supposed to, tasted just oily. If you look at the omelet they didn't even bother to chop up any of the meat, just kinda threw it on top.
Very bummed I decided to stop here for food instead of just opting to walk down the way to another place or just wait til I was back in Copenhagen. The only plus was the food was relatively cheap for what I am use to paying for in Denmark. I mean I don't know what I expected from this place to begin with, I guess I just hold restaurants in Europe to higher standards than what I get at home. Denny's would have done...
Read moreI visited Cafe Valentine on a sunny afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere and friendly service. The cafe is located on the main street of Hillerød, close to the castle and the park. The menu offers a variety of dishes for brunch, lunch and dinner, as well as drinks and desserts. I ordered the chicken salad with avocado and bacon, which was fresh and tasty. The portion was generous and the price was reasonable. The cafe also has a cocktail bar with happy hour from 20:00 to 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. I enjoyed a delicious mojito while listening to some relaxing music. The staff was attentive and helpful, and the place was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend Cafe Valentine to anyone looking for a nice place to eat and drink...

The food was mostly decent and the price is ok. The pancakes were pretty dry and flavorless though but my biggest disappointment was paying 60dkk for "freshly squeezed orange juice" which was very obviously cheap, nasty concentrate with a single slice of fresh orange inside. Couldn't drink more than a few sips of that stuff.
The place was mostly empty (4 tables occupied from what I could tell) and still the service was virtually non-existent. No greeting or smile upon entering and we had to grab our own menus and go to the counter to order ourselves when no one had come to our table within 10 minutes of sitting down.
Conclusion: the food is ok if you aren't looking for anything special but would I recommend it or...
