Rib House — Restaurant in Hillerød Municipality

Fantastic place, definitely worth going to yourself. Just as a headsup it would be a good idea to make a reservation, but beside that you will be pretty much good to go. We went there on a late Friday evening and there was bunch of people. But I made a reservation so it didn't matter, there was a table ready for me and my partner for the evening. In the same time it's nice how their menu system is. You get a pease of paper with is the menu card, then all you will have to do now is go and read it and check-mark directly on the menu. The waitress will stop by and pick up your menu and that's it. Super simple first time I have been through such a process. But as a headsup you don't choose what drinks you have on the menucard there will be a small flipbook alike thing where you can see the special dish for the month, but you just flip the next page and you can start to see all the drinks. And when the waitress comes by to pick up your menu card, you just tell them what you want.

Even though there was almost full house my partner and I got our food super fast. And if we needed something extra the waitresses were always walk by to ask and they will help you out.

In short: it's how it is supposed to be when you go out and want a good time enjoying some quality food.

FYI: parking spot only 50meters away. So you don't have to walk a lot to get to your car again after been fed up with the good food...

Time was around 19.00 and the place did not seem too busy. Waiter showed me and my wife to where we could sit and we had orders placed for dinner, coffee, wine and drinks on two order cards handed over by the waiter. Unfortunately the waiter never arrived although passing by the other guests peripherally and by 20.00 we decided to leave silently to a different restaurant. I'm sure the food is good although we never had the chance to taste it hence the 1* evaluation. The location is what any restaurant could dream of with a view to the local historically significant castle. The seats and lights were all good too and the atmosphere could easily hit a 5 * with minor adjustments. Service is left with a 1* the welcoming area was not manned, and you had to catch the attention of the waiter, and upon being seated and ready to make an order of 800dkk I do expect some level of service, but waiting 1h for the attention of the waiter is not...

Is Rib House a good restaurant? No, but it's not really claiming to be either. The portions are huge and there's lots of meat and stuff fried in oil. The prices are reasonable and the seating area was presentable. Apart from being greeted at the door no server ever came to our table despite there being plenty of them, they were just busy chatting amongst each other. The rib racks I ordered were quite burnt on one side. I could've probably sent them back but chose not to as the was an overabundance of food even without the burnt parts. Also got the wrong drink but it was exchanged without issues. All in all a decent place if you want a cheap, family friendly location with huge portions and calorie rich foods but don't expect...
