Beach Coco Mar — Restaurant in Higüey

After more than 2 years I'm back in Punta Cana and I wanted to go to my favorite restaurant in Uvero Alto. Castaways is not there anymore, now it's Coco mar. Ok, I give it a chance, because the location is great. I was very disappointed. So many staff, but the most were sitting somewhere, food was not very good, only the drinks. I was there for a late lunch on a Sunday and they played music so loud, I had to scream to my husband. We asked for making the music quieter, but no chance. And after that a DJ was coming and the music got even louder. we finished our meal and went away. I'm sorry for this beautiful place, but like this I will never go again. And we missed the fresh fish and seafood...

They’ve removed the actual restaurant, so now it’s just a few tables on the beach — no real atmosphere anymore. At the same time, prices have doubled while the menu options have drastically shrunk. No pastas, no risotto, just a few appetizers and overpriced mains. We went specifically for the paella for four, which was advertised with 4,190 DOP, we were shocked when we saw that it’s now over 4,400 DOP for just two people. Total rip-off. Jackie and Natalie took such good care of us! They were so kind and attentive, and Natalie helped me practice Spanish with so much kindness.

The food was amazing. We had breakfast. The Three Hit was the best we had - an excellent representation of the Dominican Breakfast. I highly recommend. Additionally, the omelettes, chicken and waffles, and french toast were amazing. We went back a second time since we enjoyed our meal so much!
