The Lobster House — Restaurant in Higüey

Pros are the ease and experience of the restaurant. It's open for every meal, while most other places aren't, and it has amazing views.

The issue is that it doesn't excel at anything. It's the place you go to because it's convenient or the only thing open, not because you're craving their food. The buffet for breakfast (or magna) is significantly better, the grill for lunch, and pick your place for dinner are all better.

The lobster it's named off of is extremely tough and not what we're used to in the states. The cook times are significant. We waited 45 minutes for a medium rare flank steak at lunch, which really cuts down on the day.

Definitely one of our favorites restaurants within the Excellence Resort. The restaurant is outdoor ish and is by the pools and beach so it's a nice view at night. The service was excellent as always, our waiter was very attentive and friendly. We had the Lobster Risotto, Surf and Turf and more lobster for our main courses. They were all seasoned and cooked very well. You also get to choose among diff sauces for the lobster! For appetizer, we had the grilled octopus and coconut shrimps. Ate here on 2/26/2022. We got here a little late and had to wait for a table. Told them we would be upstairs having a drink. Hour later I went back downstairs and they said they looked for us and didn’t see us. This was not true, we were sitting right were you come up the stairs.
