D' Morales Parrillada — Restaurant in Higüey

This place was DELICIOUS!!! For a family member's destination wedding we stayed in a local all-inclusive resort. The food there left A LOT to be desired and we wanted to eat something authentic. I found this place via Google search and boy am I glad I did. We were expecting a brick and mortar restaurant but when we arrived it was an outdoor area with a large grill, a small counter, and some tables made of pallets. Really cute! It appeared that everyone there was a local as most of the customers and staff seemed to be familiar with one another. It's always a good sign when locals eat at a restaurant in a resort town. We ordered what I referred to as the "sampler platter" which was essentially a foil turkey pan filled with a salad (dressing was awesome), chicken and pork that had been dry rubbed and grilled ALL DAY LONG, and the most perfectly prepared tostones I've ever had anywhere. I’ve been to Punta Cana two times,I’ve stayed at Hotel Princess and Rui Republica and I have visited this place about 5 times total.The food is the best I’ve had in Dominican Republic very tasty and full of flavor,very authentic and super affordable.The guys on the grill are so account friendly great customer service.I love this gem of a find.Cant wait to go back...

Do not come here if you’re a tourist , they will charge you 2-3 x more than they charge locals. Took complete advantage of me. A mix grill, one beer with a tiny salad and a few tostones, 800 pesos which is $16 USD , I am sure the real charge was less than half of that. Avoid...
