La Dolce Vita — Restaurant in Higüey

Nice atmosphere and service, but I wouldn't say the same for the food.

The starter was very good. I had the minestrone soup with vegetables and pasta.

For main, I had the Italian chicken, and it didn't taste good at all. There was just a small piece of chicken, very bland and the cheese didn't taste as good I thought it would, the pasta was pretty bad as it tasted like it was cooked many days ago and it was pretty hard, the tomato sauce was very salty and tasteless.

For dessert, I had the lemon biscuits pie, and it didn't taste good as well.

My gf had pumpkin soup, and it tasted just ok. She also had cannelloni with meat, and it didn't taste good as well. For dessert, she had chocolate pudding, and honestly, we tried just a small piece of it, and we left it.

Basically, from the whole dinner, only my soup was good.

Maybe the fish options would have been better, but I know for sure the meat isn't...

This is our 2nd time at Barcelo Bávaro and we ate at this restaurant both times. Overall I think the food quality and service was better when we came in 2022. However this is one of the restaurants that has maintained good service.

This time we had the minestrone soup & the pumpkin soup, both were delicious. We had a few items from the salad bar. The salad bar at Dolce Vita is smaller than at other restaurants. For entrees we had the Saltimbocca that was delicious, small portion but satisfying. We also ordered linguini with pesto & grilled chicken. This is not on the menu but they allowed us to customize. The third dish we got was the beef medallions with risotto. The risotto was really good, mushroom flavor.

We didn’t get desert since they didn’t have the Sicilian cake we wanted. Overall it was a nice experience. But make sure you’re with someone who speaks Spanish otherwise it’s hard to...

To sum it all up, this place was Amazing. Great service with very polite waitresses and a great salad bar with Italian favorites and a wheel of Parmergianno cheese. Very wide choices of pastas, sauces, and kids menu items. Dessert was probably the highlight of the Dinner. Tiramisu is nice and creamy, Incredibly delicious and nicely decorated. Please do know this restaurant is located in Barceló Bávaro Palace. Anyways, the decorations of the place were astonishing, was in my opinion the most beautiful restaurant on the Resort. 1920's and 1950's feel to it. Red carpet on the entrance with fake paparazzi flashlights. Incredible restaurant and I definitely recommend this Italian...
