Dolce Italia — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

Nice coffee shop and restaurant inside at the ground level of the VIP-business-tower "Torre Novo Centro". The restaurant is a little bit italian style, but is just a good place for every business men and women, who needs to forget all the paperwork and busy-busy phonecalls and so on. Overthere you can have the real important meetings and make you billion-dollar-deals in a very quiet atmosphere and discret waiter. The room has full aircon and is big enough that you have your separate tabel, or you prefer to go to the outside terrace, which has a good sunshade but of course no aircon ... and the full noises of the big-city-traffic. They offer you an original Belgium beer in different flavors, that's really amazing. On the other way, you can choose also the regular Presidente, you know this beer is absolutly ok, but maybe you need ask for warm beer, because the Dominican loves the beer more deep freeze, because ouside is alltime soo hot! I visited today (Sunday afternoon), hoping to get a good coffee and a nice dessert, since I was in the area. I was not impressed at all. The two young girls behind the counter need more training. One of them couldn't make a nice creamy capuchino, it was just foam on top, little cream; the second one, whom looked to be the lead, didn't know what an Irish coffe was, even though is on their coffe menu. They only had two desserts, the tiramisu and something else they couldn't clearly explain what it was, so I didn't even bother to try them.I didn't try their food, so I can't judge them on it. The place is cute and I would probably give them a second chance and visit again, maybe pizza or something more authentic Italian. With so much to choose from in the area, it's a difficult...
