During our recent trip to Santo Domingo, my family and I found ourselves seriously craving Indian food. After a quick search, we stumbled upon Sara’s Kitchen—and what started off as a spontaneous decision turned into one of the highlights of our visit.
The restaurant itself is a beautiful, cozy spot with elegant decor that blends modern design with subtle Indian touches. But what truly set the experience apart was the warm hospitality of the owner. She personally came over to our table, chatted with us like an old friend, and even gave us fantastic local tips—from shopping spots to cultural experiences around the city. It made us feel incredibly welcomed, like we were dining in someone’s home rather than a restaurant.
She also suggested a few dishes, and I’m so glad we followed her lead. The food was delicious—bursting with flavor, perfectly spiced, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The standout dish for all of us? The garlic naan. It came straight from the tandoor, hot and crisp, with just the right balance of garlic and buttery goodness. It was easily one of the best we’ve had outside of India.
Even after we were stuffed from the generous portions of our main courses, the owner surprised us with a complimentary dessert—another thoughtful touch that made the whole experience feel extra special.
Sara’s Kitchen isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place where you’re treated like family. A great spot, run by a passionate entrepreneur who clearly pours love into her food and her guests. If you ever find yourself in Santo Domingo and craving authentic Indian cuisine, don’t miss this gem. You’ll walk out with a full belly and...

Read moreBest hidden indian jewel in Santo Domingo. My test of fire for any Indian place is Daal (Dal), given its core ingredients and apparent simplicity, but if well done is simply an ancestral gift from South Asia. Chef Santosh delivered marvelously, it was a true trip to his home town in northern India, near Delhi. We tried several (and a I mean it) dishes and combinations. The thing here is that Chef Santosh courteously listened to the palate experience we were after and time and again surprised us with his creativity and delicate flavors. I will let you discover what fusions Chef Santosh brings, but a lil hint is on that spinach leave trapped in fried roti over a peach risotto! Amazing.
Absolutely everything was delicious, on top of very courteous staff, Everyone’s efforts engulfed our dinning experience with warming attentions.
The atmosphere is serene, welcoming . Its cozy inner corner location adds to the sense of a “rare find”. Truth to its roots reflected in their decor and...
