It’s chinese-style food, NOT AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD from any of the regional cuisines of a great culinary culture 🫤🫤🫤.
This might be however a step up from the typical Chifa.
The eatery is a typical large eating establishment with limited interior designing yet pleasant enough atmosphere…
BUT it does NOT EXUDE THE AMBIENCE OF A REAL BISTRO.
Indeed, the MENU is a tedious, rather UNIMAGINATIVE repetitive listing of mostly the same basic “supposedly” stir fry🫤🫤🫤.
The difference in the listed foods is in the protein (either pork or chicken or fish), with or without noodles.
There’s the usual Chifa dish, the chaulafans and some soups.
A few dishes are battered or breaded and deep fried, which are not Chinese cooking methods l.
There’s a list of Dumplings and Baos (buns) that is ERRONEOUSLY LABELED AS DIMSUM🫤🫤🫤🫤🫤.
*DIMSUM IS NOT A TYPE OF DISH/FOOD. It is a style of serving small portions of Cantonese food. It’s the Cantonese equivalent of the Castellano Tapas.
Dumplings is a very minor part of true DimSum.
DimSum Cantonese dining can last for several hours.
NONE OF THE FOOD HERE IS CANTONESE, nor do they have Cantonese flavors.
🫤🫤🫤🫤🫤 The Ja Kao (shrimp dumplings) and Siu Mai (mixed shrimp-pork-veggie) are eatable BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE TEXTURE AND FRESHNESS of newly prepared dumplings.
They rather lukewarm and very compact fillings and quite chewy dough 👎👎👎 indicates these are previously frozen, likely factory-made products.
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 The Salteado Camarones con Brócoli y Hongos is NOT SAUTÉED BUT BOILED OR BLANCHED INGREDIENTS THEN A BROWN SAUCE IS POURED OVER.
This so-called stir fry (NOT REALLY) completely lacks the Umami flavor of true Chinese cooking.
😑😑😑 Pato Medio (roasted half duck) is the small glimmer of bright spot.
Seasoned and good tasting moist duck… BUT AGAIN LACKS THE FLAVORS OF CHINESE SEASONINGS.
Cuenca has a select authentic Chinese eateries, THIS PLACE IS NOT...
Dejo a...
