A very good addition to Cuenca Chinese dining with a good measure of authenticity. It’s certainly a much better choice than the common chifa eatery. 😎The short pictorial menu looks a good listing of familiar Sichuan dishes… The lady server confirms that cook-owner, her husband, does come from the Sichuan region. The menu is marred only by the pesky General Tso😡😡, which is NOT CHINESE and DOES NOT exist in PRC or its territories. 🤩 Pollo al Cumino (Cumin Chicken)::: has the familiar flavors and fragrance of Chinese spices, with that distinctive kick of cumin…. BUT lacks the Sichuan heat that could have elevated the flavor and gusto of this otherwise splendid dish. 🤩 Pepinos con Oreja de Maderas (Pickled Cucumbers with Woodear Mushrooms)::: a classic Sichuan COLD dish that is prepared without chilies. Lovely favor indeed,,, BUT this one has so much cucumbers when the woodears should have been the star! 😑🫤 Empanadillos de Cerdo (pork dumplings)::: quite flavorful and packed filling… BUT the dough is gummy and served a tad cold indicating they were frozen and slightly reheated when they should have been served steaming hot. Tea comes with the meal. It’s a nice cozy eatery.

I’ve been here twice now and it was super filling and delicious both times! As a Chinese American, I really appreciate getting a little taste of home and this is some of the most authentic food you can get in the area. Everything I tried has great flavor and perfect level of spice. The owners are very kind and committed to quality! It is best to order ahead if you’re hungry. Some of the dishes take a while to make since they are made fresh to order. I had the twice-cooked pork and the general tso’s chicken. Forgot to take pictures of everything because we were too excited to eat!

This place just opened and we went there two days in a row! As a Chinese American, I am always looking for good and authentic Chinese food here, which is not an easy task. If you like Chinese food, you should check out this place! So far I have tried Twice cooked pork (回锅肉) and General Tsao's chicken (左宗棠鸡)and both are super delicious. The owners are still learning Spanish and English, but their menu has 3 languages. If you like to try the two dishes I recommended, you can show them this review with the Chinese characters of the dishes :)
