La Casetta Pizzeria — Restaurant in Vilcabamba

Most authentic pizza you will across a majority of Ecuador. Proper sourdough crust, and baked in a proper oven. I had the napoletano and it was yummy (I am a weirdo and enjoy my anchovies). Seating is a little cramped, so probably not a comfortable place to dine with large groups. While there is plenty of "edible" pizzas across Ecuador where they pile on toppings, this is the closest to "real" pizza I have found across the places in Ecuador I have visited. PS, I am from CT, and grew up on New Haven pizza, so I probably know a thing or two...

We ordered two pizzas and a stuffed focaccia. Margherita was good, the pizza with mushroom sauce arrived at the table burnt and had a hole in the center. we got an extra slice of pizza on the house but we left two slices because it was just hard to eat. The extra slice we got had the topping added after the oven and it was really bad. The focaccia was good. I live in Vilcabamba and have eaten pizzas here in town in different places. But " La Casetta " offers the very best .. i have eaten there nunerous times and cannot get ever tired of their delicious pizzas, pasta dishes and heavenly delightfull desserts .On top the service is friendly and the atmosphere is super cozy and there even is a little garden in the back to sit in.
