Mammá Silvia — Restaurant in Vilcabamba

The service was fine and the restaurant was clean. Also the food came quickly. As for the food it was not very good. We ordered the bruschetta, artichokes with olive oil, minestrone soup and spaghetti with red sauce. The bruschetta was just okay, the artichokes were not good, the soup was tasteless, we ended up pouring the remainder of our pasta sauce into the soup to add flavor. The pasta itself was just alright although the sauce was tasty. A few other issues are that the portions were small, I left hungry, and it might be the most expensive place in town. If you must have Italian go ahead and try it but it would not receive my recommendation as a place I would visit again.

El servicio estaba bien y el restaurante estaba limpio. También la comida llegó rápidamente. En cuanto a la comida no fue muy buena. Pedimos la bruschetta, alcachofas con aceite de oliva, sopa minestrone y espaguetis con salsa roja. La bruschetta estaba bien, las alcachofas no estaban buenas, la sopa no tenía sabor, terminamos vertiendo el resto de nuestra salsa de pasta en la sopa para agregarle sabor. La pasta en sí estaba bien, aunque la salsa estaba deliciosa. Algunos otros problemas son que las porciones eran pequeñas, me quedé con hambre y podría ser el lugar más caro de la ciudad. Simply put, this is the most authentic Italian meal I have had in Ecuador. The spaghetti with lamb meatballs was outstanding, the garlic bread came on homemade bread with a healthy portion of cheese, and the glass of red wine was fresh and not out of the fridge(imagine that!).
