Tours was a nice place to stop and visit between events. The staff was kind and helpful. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. We brought much of our own food but we ordered drinks and tea which was delicious. There is free Wi-Fi here as well. The outdoor seating area was well constructed and clean with enough seating for forty or so people. Across the road are the Colossi of Memnon which were nearly destroyed in an ancient earthquake. The Colossi once “sang” at dawn and dusk and the sound had many ancient explanations but was likely due to the temperature differential at those hours moving air thorough cracks in the facade. This all came to an end when a visiting Roman Caesar “honored” the statues by giving them a facelift. The repair immediately stopped the singing but the Greek name associated with one of the explanations associated with Agamemnon stuck, so they remain Colossi at Memnon.
