Anzu Rooftop Lounge — Restaurant in Cairo

On a Saturday night I called to reserve a table for 4 people and the girl on the phone confirmed the reservation and said last order at 1AM and closing at 2AM and we were okay with that. We went in around 11PM ordered food and drinks. Drinks were good, on the other hand, food was really bad and not fresh at all! Veggies had mold!! We also ordered 1 penne pasta (it was okay) and the waiter brought (2) so we told him we only ordered 1 and he kept saying no you ordered 2 not 1 and please take it or I will have to pay for it!!! We said we only ordered 1 and we would take the other one but it’s not even good so we don’t want it. He left and then came back trying to convince us AGAIN that we ordered 2!!! We refused to take the other plate because WE ONLY ORDERED 1 pasta. Later on, his supervisor came and said the same thing that we ordered 2!! This was SUPER annoying and ruined our night at this place!! Not only that but around 12:30 one of the waiters came and asked if you need anything else because it’s “last order”!! I was invited by a friend to this lovely place and on my way to Heliopolis I understood that this roof top located next door to the Smokery in Heliopolis which I loooove so much. It’s a very clean and safe location like a big courtyard with the garden and a couple of villas with a lot of cafe, coffee shops etc in its territory. To reach the club you should enter a villa, then elevator, the building is clean and sophisticated and you started being relaxed and pleased by this atmosphere at once.

The biggest surprise for me was the food!!!! It was TASTY. I really didn’t expect much from the club, but all sushi and dynamite shrimps and other appetizers were fresh and pretty tasty.

The main plus of this roof for me is the real Italian vibe of the place, you are sitting in the fresh air watching nice facades of surrounding buildings, listening to the music, a lot of different parties around you. Nice place! Really I will definitely...

This place is an absolute joke. First of all, they force customers to leave fake positive reviews, which is why most of the ratings here are complete lies. Don’t believe the hype. The waiters are creepy and unprofessional — staring at customers in a way that makes the whole place feel uncomfortable and weird. If you’re even slightly drunk, they’ll try to scam you on the bill, assuming you won’t notice or question anything. It’s shady and dishonest. The environment is miserable — no real air conditioning, just a few useless fans blowing hot air around. It’s sweaty, stuffy, and gross. The food? Below average at best. Nothing special, bland, and definitely not worth the price. Overall, the whole experience was awful from start to finish.
