just after midnight a few days and in a complete coincidence, I was walking back from Jawad Hosny street to the car park in Bab Ellouk, and i saw people standing in a line waiting for their turn to get inside the restaurant and eat. The curiosity got me on to check this restaurant and see how good it is to add it to my list of restaurants. I took my place in the line and surprisingly i got inside the restaurant quickly. I was seated in a table with 4 chairs, i checked the quickly the menu on the wall and i ordered a hlfkgm mix kebab and kofta and a half kgm of nefa (it may seems big and it is actually but after the meat is cooked it become less than a kgm). I waited for the food to be served, usually you get served in any kebab place within 10-15 minute...but now its 40 minute since i made my order and i have to remind the waiter to bring my food and he said for second time you will get it soon. Then i got really frustrated cause nothing served and its nearly an hour now..so i walked to manager and i said if my food is not served now i will leave. The food was served to me immediately after the argument i had with the manager(the owner). I ate but i did not really enjoyed the food although it was not bad but not great as other kebab and nefa places. The outcome of this midnight meal is ..i will not go back to this place ever again. The food is ok and nothing special with it, the prices is very expensive and the restaurant is not following the prices in the menu..so expect to pay a little extra, plus the service is very bad..very very bad and the restaurant is not clean and basin where you was hands is very disgusting. Not recommended and it it doesn't...
Read moreI recently dined at Algomhoureya Restaurant in Downtown Cairo, and overall, the experience was average. The food was decent, but nothing particularly stood out. I wouldn’t recommend ordering the stuffed pigeon—it was underwhelming and not as flavorful as I’d hoped.
One downside was the service. The waiter seemed to have a bit of an attitude, which made the experience less enjoyable. Additionally, I was disappointed when I couldn’t find a specific soft drink I wanted on the menu, and the staff wasn’t helpful in resolving the issue. I ended up walking about 500 meters outside the restaurant to find it myself.
While the location is convenient, the overall experience didn’t meet my expectations. There are certainly better options...
