Zahret Al Bostan — Restaurant in Cairo

This place is the bane of non smokers. Immense mass amounts of smoke in the air and it's quite filthy and in the middle of the street. Food and drink ar over priced as hell, and waiter made multiple attempts to try to scame me and my friends wich is already enough for me to remove 2 stars, and another for the absurd filth and muck. Cats wandering around which is just disgusting. The seats there are very low and uncomfortable, and they have no arm rest and most dont have a back rest. The place is an overall mess and would never ever want to come here again in my life. I suffered from a severe cough and my throat and nose is swollen from all the smoke. Do not go here if you are a foreigner! this was my night in Cairo and what a rip off! This restaurant looks lovely with the lights and clearly has an atmosphere where you are invited in to have local food with locals. A very charming Aiman served us and made polite chit chat asking questions of our trip and where we are from. When ordering we made the mistake of not seeing the menu”He said he was the menu!”and proceeded to recommend the mixed grill( which upon looking at their menu when I got back to the hotel was 140 Egyptian dollars)He charged us1500! Guys please be very careful eating at this place. A guy called Aiymen totally ripped us off. He started by engaging us in conversation telling us he had lived in the uk at one time. Made polite chit chat then recommended a mixed grill. He did not show us a menu but told us it was a set menu. We made the mistake not to ask how much this would be. He quoted our bill to be 1750 Egyptian pounds for 2 of us. I knew this was too much and could only pay 1500 as this is all I had left.
