I usually don’t write negative reviews, but I feel it’s my responsibility to share this experience for the comfort and safety of others.
We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation. The food was actually quite decent, and the ambiance pleasant. However, our entire experience was deeply ruined by the unprofessional and shockingly inappropriate behavior of one of the young male staff members.
This individual made unsolicited, intrusive, and even vulgar comments—crossing every possible line of respectful interaction. His jokes were offensive, his remarks disturbingly personal, and his overall behavior completely unacceptable in a space that should be safe and welcoming to all guests.
We chose not to confront him at the time, as we were the only guests there and didn’t want to escalate things. But we left the restaurant feeling upset, uncomfortable, and frankly, disrespected.
This wasn’t a simple case of poor service—it was a violation of personal boundaries and a failure in basic human decency. As long as individuals like this are part of the staff, I cannot recommend this restaurant as a safe or respectful environment.
I truly hope the management takes this seriously. No customer should have to feel unsafe or demeaned simply for choosing...
Read moreFirst I have to mention what an amazing server we were blessed with, Sultan. He took such good care of us from the moment we sat down, to helping us order and bringing extra dishes of no charge so we could try them. We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our Aswan guide. It’s true Egyptian food, not touristy at all. Sultan sat us in an inner room and we ordered with his guidance. Our entrees came with a million and one apps. We had a white bean and okra dish which I dream about still. There was salad, lentil soup, amazing spreads, and fresh bread. Our entrees were grilled chicken and kofta and kebab, very traditional Egyptian dinner from what we learned. Everything was so well prepared and absolutely delicious.
The hospitality of the staff and the wonderful patrons we sat next to made these experiences so special. We also got to meet the owners son who sat next to us at dinner and we learned a bit about his life and what he wants to do in the future. Their kindness and welcoming spirit to tourist like us was so so wonderful. Sultan also brought us two traditional desserts, a rice pudding and another one I cant remember the name of but both so yummy! Highly recommend this...
Read moreThis restaurant presented a bit of a puzzle. Based on the very casual decor – think plastic tablecloths and water in plastic cups – I was expecting budget-friendly prices. However, the menu was surprisingly expensive, placing it in the same range as much nicer establishments in Egypt. The food itself was actually quite tasty for a budget-friendly meal, and if it had been priced appropriately, that would be the end of the story.
The service was friendly and attentive. However, the final bill was significantly higher than anticipated, roughly a third more than the total I calculated from the menu prices. I'm still unsure how they arrived at that total, as there was no clear breakdown of the service charges. This underhanded tactic completely negated any positive impression from the friendly service and decent food, and ultimately left a really bitter taste.
Please be aware that they don't accept card payments, and locating a nearby ATM proved to be quite...
