Darwish fishmarket - أسماك درويش — Restaurant in South Sinai

We had a fun/cultural experience. Eating dinner on the street with the exhaust fumes of cars, about 15 cats, and the grime of Dahab all over the tables was interesting. But, the food was good. Very fresh and flavorful. My husband had the seafood soup and said it was excellent. We shared a fish (not sure what kind) some shrimp and calamari. All were deliciously cooked in spices. The bill was about 850. No drinks. Don't expect silverware. Its an Eat with your fingers kind of spot. They were very busy so it must be a popular. We didnt know how to order at first. They dont come to the table to take your order and there is no menu. You go to the counter and talk to the guy smoking a cigarette. I'm writing this review while dining in another seafood restaurant, just to make sure that what we had yesterday was not a normal seafood meal.

We went to Darwish yesterday to have dinner, we carefully chose the fish we needed and made sure it's fresh. We had some shrimps and salads too.

The food took too long to be served, when it came, the fish was literally cold, the shrimps were mildly warm. The salad portion was too small, like less than half a tomato and a piece of cucumber. Tahini tasted awful. The fish was sooo dry. I've tasted better frozen fish before.

The overall experience was awful. And for almost the same price you can have a much much much better seafood meal, specially the prices is almost as close as everywhere else.

If this is the last place on earth that serves food I'd rather...

I mean what can I say. First of this is not the first Sea food I ate at in Dahab, but it’s the best one I ate at. The fish and the choices and the local vibe is unbeatable. The service is top notch and the prices are awesome. So your self a favor and just come straight here don’t even think about it. What’s amazing about this place is that the owner is the actual fisherman that fishes most of the options you have in the restaurant. Guarantees freshness and the cooking makes the sea food lunch or dinner the best you’ve had in Dahab and Egypt.
