Masala Twist Restauraurant Suva — Restaurant in Viti Levu

I wish I had photos for you, but the food is so good that we dive right in every time! Oh, wait, we went again, and we took pictures! I love this place so much. Good service, the food is consistently wonderful no matter what you order, the atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable. The cost is fair and portions are perfect. If you ask for mild spice/heat you get mild. If you ask for medium, you get medium. It is also wheelchair accessible which is perfect for me with my walker. Of the 6 restaurants my friend and I have eaten at Masala Twist is the only one we have returned to, and we intend to go again at least one or two times more before we return to Canada. We have had three meals there, and this is what we chose to eat: Mawabi Chicken Tandoori, Vegetarian Pad Thai, Palak Paneer, Thai Vegetable Stir Fry, Mango Lasee, Local Beers, Butter Chicken, Aloo Gobi, and bowl of rice between the two of us...

Having had a few disappointing curries here in Suva, at various food courts & even Indiana, I'd almost given up on curry. But have to say the Keralan prawn curry I had here was spot on. Was asked how spicy I wanted it and they listened (spicy, having lived in Asia for the past 7 years, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan I've had a few curries). The heat kick was given using both spices and chilli, not just chucking chopped chilli into it. Naans were good. Service fine. Only complaint, and I'd have given 5 otherwise, was I'd noticed every other table was given complementary poppadoms on being seated and for some reason...

I was staying very close by and ate dinner here regularly over a few days. The food was brilliant - I only wish I could stay longer just so I could try more dishes. I mostly ate vegetarian in the Indian style of cooking and it was just so good. I could happily eat this for the rest of my life. I had the grilled fish dish for one lunch and while it took a while to arrive, it was so worth the wait. Honestly one of the best fish dishes I can remember in a long time.
