Bar Kalliohovi — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

We’ve lived near this place for over a year and a half (and have also brought countless people here that also enjoy the place, while also being regulars at the bar) and used to enjoy it a lot. But recently, the experience has not been very good.

This culminated in an experience today where we were enjoying a night out here, and decided we needed some food to continue the night. We ordered fries from a nearby restaurant and brought them back to our table (we understand now that this was not right, but didn’t know it at the time). We were eating for 5 minutes and already were like 70% of the way through the food, when the owner or manager came up to us and was very mean and aggressive while saying things like “You can’t eat that here, we don’t have a license to sell food” really aggressively and in a rude way with swearing added in etc. We immediately apologized and put the food away. If we knew the rules beforehand we would not have done it and if they explained kindly or at least politely, we would’ve understood.

The fact that we have been regular customers at this bar for over a year and a half and were treated so disrespectfully has made me refuse to ever bring anyone here ever again and spend any money willingly in this establishment. They were overly-aggressive to myself and my partner and we were really appalled after being regulars at this place for so long.

If we didn’t have this experience we would’ve spent the rest of the night (with friends joining) at the bar and continued to have a fantastic opinion of the place, but now we will never invite people there and will let our opinions known to others!

Avoid at all costs if you want to avoid humiliation in front of others!

Again, we understand (now) that we were wrong for having food there, but we were unaware and would’ve been fine with “Sorry, but you cannot have that here, it’s against our policy.” We accept that we were in the wrong, but a bit of humanity and decency would’ve...

The bartender SHOULD NOT be working there. Or in any customer service job anywhere. He is extremely rude and disrespectful towards the customers and i’ve only heard horrible stories about how he has treated people including me and my friend.

On the regional election day I had went voting and therefore had forgotten my ID at home. My friend on the other hand had hers. Once i realized the fact i apologized and said i was leaving. He, without my permission dragged me out to the front of the bar as if I wasn’t walking that way anyways. After swearing and yelling at me, he dragged out my friend as well who had her ID with her(we are both adults). We were left feeling deeply humiliated in front of the other customers, who witnessed us being treated with unnecessary aggression...

kalliohovissa on todella ristiriitainen tunnelma. kalja on suht maukasta, hinta ei ole paha mutta baari on 50/50 täynnä jakeja ja jennoja, mutta myös kallion emoja. en osaa oikein kuvailla baarin kohdeyleisöä muuten. hämmennyksekseni tässä kaljaravintolassa soi aivan old irish pubin tasoista klubimusiikkia, mutta silti telkkareissa pyörii pelkästään urheilua, enimmäkseen jalkapalloa. tämä kombo on hämmentävä eikä toimi keskenään. en osaa päättää pelottaako minua tämä baarin kohdeyleisö vai ei, enimmäkseen kuitenkin pelottaa.

vessoissa on aika harvoin paperia ja vessat larppaavat yläasteen vessojen tunnelmaa, mutta naisten vessassa ainakin on usein hyvä tunnelma. miinuksena vain että koppien ovista näkee pienestä raosta muuallekin.

jostain syystä täällä on myös shabu house korean barbeque lasinaluset, onkohan kalliohovi itse varastanut ne sieltä? tästä syystä aion itse varastaa tämän lasinalusen itselleni myös, eihän nyt voi arvostaa baaria joka varastaa muilta. olotila kyllä on se, että tämä baari ei tunnu kuuluvan vaasankadulle. sekä täällä on hieman kiusallista olla ensitreffeillä, täällä soi aina hämmentävän romanttista musiikkia, vähintään muutaman kerran illassa. (esimerkkinä careless whisper)

lisäkommenttina ystävän mielestä yksi baarimikko on kiva ja hän tykkää myös korsosta. myös toisena lisäkommenttina, mukava puoli on se, että miesten vessassa random miehet saattavat tulla kättelemään sinua ja antamaan työtarjouksia. ainakin tutulle näin on käynyt kahdesti.
