Quite unpleasant customer experience.
Lunchtime, with moderate queue. Waited for 66 minutes (yes I clocked it), was in hurry to run back to work. Asked for a refund just to receive unpleasant glance from a waiter and following explanations the kitchen was out of rice, and I told this to the people in front of you when you were in queue.. so apparently it was customer’s fault that I didn't listen what waiter tells this to other customers. it has been only 30 minutes since I placed my order. This was blatant lie as I clocked the time Suddenly the food is actually ready now (?)
Waited again for a while, but food which was supposed to be ready didn't arrive. Asked for a take-away as I was in extreme hurry. Instead of providing the sushis that should have been ready, I received a take away box with 12 pcs of random sushis I didn't even order. Waiter just told me that they don't offer buffet orders to a customer as take away (but which were according to waiter ready to be served?) but instead decided to give me some random sushi as take away. Ok, quite odd. I simply had to give the take away bag back and leave, as they refused to refund.
So... Never received a money back for a food that I didn't even eat. I am sorry but this is just appalling service. Restaurant didn't deliver food in proper time to a customer and didn't offer a refund, waiter lies eyes open and basically says fu** you to a customer. I am quite sure the food is good and everything, but not worth the wait, inappropriate and humiliating service attitude from a staff and not mentioning not refunding money to a customer who didn't even received the product one had ordered. Meaning that this restaurant stole my money. Will never come back to this place.
Apparently the attitude is something that other customers have noticed as well. It doesn't matter if the food is excellent if your...
Read moreOishi18 is undoubtedly one of the top sushi spots in Helsinki and a must-visit for sushi lovers. The restaurant offers a unique buffet concept where sushi is freshly made to order, ensuring an incredibly fresh and flavorful experience every time. This personalized touch sets Oishi18 apart from other sushi buffets, making it feel more like a premium dining experience than a typical all you can eat setup. The variety of sushi options is impressive, catering to both traditional and modern tastes, and the quality of the fish and ingredients is consistently excellent.
In terms of pricing, it is quite reasonable for Helsinki standards, especially given the high quality of the food and the freshness of every piece. You really feel like you’re getting great value for your money.
The only downside to Oishi18 is its small size, which can lead to long waits during peak hours. It’s not uncommon to see lines stretching several meters outside the door, with wait times exceeding 40 minutes. However, the experience is absolutely worth the wait. The atmosphere inside is cozy, and the attentive service ensures a pleasant dining experience. If you’re patient enough to handle the wait, I highly recommend Oishi18 for some of the best...
Read moreAlthough the food was great, we received our first order of sushi about 1:10 hours after getting seated.
Wolt deliveries appear to get priority over paying seated customers, given that the same delivery driver came in to pick up food twice before we got our order.
There seemed to be one waiter, two chefs and one washer. The chefs in the kitchen seemed to be having a lot of fun, which is nice. However while they danced to “In Da Club” by 50 Cent we were still anxiously waiting for our food.
Now waiting long is generally unpleasant, however when complicated dishes are served it’s understandable. Sushi however is not complicated to put together, there is really no way to justify having to wait more than an hour to get your order.
There was also a weird movie being projected unto the wall?
Then, to top it all of; the waiter approached us telling us they gave the table away to the next customers about two hours after getting seated, and 50 minutes after getting our first plate.
To summarize: pretentious, overhyped and slow. We will...
