I had an unforgettable dining experience at Ravintola Kannas in Helsinki! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the lively and welcoming atmosphere both inside and outside the restaurant. The service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and quick to ensure everything was perfect.

The food, though, is the real highlight. I started with the salmon soup, which was creamy and absolutely loaded with huge, tender chunks of salmon. The texture and flavor were spot on, and it was one of the best I've had in the city. Then came the grilled chicken breast, which far exceeded my expectations! It was tender, perfectly seasoned, and served on a bed of grilled vegetables with a rich brown sauce and topped with grilled goat cheese—a real treat for the palate.

But the standout was the giant escalope. If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, this is it. It was massive, well-seasoned, and incredibly tasty—absolutely worth trying. To top it all off, I paired my meal with one of their outstanding beers, which had fruity notes that complemented the meal perfectly.

Overall, Ravintola Kannas is a must-visit if you're in Helsinki. Great food, great service, and a lively atmosphere make this place one of my favorites....

The chilli burger was lovely, and it’s great to see they have a wide variety of drinks available to order. Unfortunately the place was severely let down by its service. The waitresses were rushed off their feet, my main meal took around 30 minutes to arrive. I enjoyed my burger and then I ordered dessert. After waiting 30 minutes for my desert, a waitress came to ask me if I had already had it, to which I told her that I had not. She said she would be right back and went away to speak to someone after a further 15 minutes of waiting I did not have enough time left available so I went to the bar and asked them if I could just pay for what I had had and leave. Magically at that moment my dessert was ready. I was offered it at no cost, but at that point I did not have time or the inclination to stay there any longer, and so I declined. I was polite but clearly dissatisfied, i’m surprised that no manager wanted to speak to me. Nevertheless, I was charged full price, paid up my €30 and left. After this experience I probably wouldn’t return to this restaurant if I ever visited...

Rustic restaurant that serves up delicious traditional Finnish cuisine. This no frills restaurant has been going since 1939 and honestly you feel like you are stepping back into time when you set foot into this food establishment

Service was good, staff were friendly and warm. I ordered the traditional meatballs and it was one of the best meals I've had. The mash potato was so creamy and rich with the Paprika style sauce and the meatballs were quite filling. I really enjoyed eating this and thought the price was not bad for the portion size. My friend ordered the Schnitzel pan and found it OK. She thought it was a little salty because it had bacon and sausage but an interesting dish. She wished she tried my meatballs

I thought it was nice to sample the local cuisine but wouldn't say the restaurant had much of a vibe. Come for the food...
