After getting married at the local registry office today, me and my wife and our family and friends had booked a table for 10 people at 3pm. Although we arrived half hour earlier than scheduled and we was seated very quickly. The waitress kindly put red candles on the table making the theme more relaxed and romantic at the same time, she handed out the menu and gave us the option of either buffet or if anyone else fancied food from the menu, she could take our orders. Whilst majority of our family and friends took the buffet my father my mother and myself selected the mixed grill from the menu. Overall our meat was cooked really well, just the cooked onions gave me a chest burn lol. Overall everyone was happy with the food and drinks served. We later asked for Baklava which was a bit dry (fresh baklava is juicy with runny sherbet) but tasted good along with our Turkish Tea. With all the mixture of menu, buffet, drinks, dessert and tea, the final bill was actually correct, usually I get this feeling that I have been overcharged with all this mixtures but today my heart was comfortable to even leave a tip to the waitress. Thank you for the lovely food. Good luck with your business and all the best....
Read moreHalikarnas came highly recommended online with local Muslims raving about the food and decor. I can only agree with one of those two unfortunately as the food was ok but nothing to write home about.
Perhaps bias only having visited Istanbul a month ago, I was expecting tender lamb and chicken cooked to perfection on a bed of fragrant rice and fresh salad. Instead, I was served a mixed grill that had been burnt on one side and hidden from sight, claggy rice and weak salad.
The mezze platter was the only saving grace which was what I would expect from any Turkish restaurant.
My colleague who had ordered the iskender kebab was also disappointed with a sloppy plate covered in chilli salsa.
The height or should I say low of the night however was the service, which can only be described as tolerable. From the moment we walked in and the waiter had AirPods in his ears we could tell it would be an experience. We just didn’t expect to be served food at the same time as the waiter having a conversation on the phone.
I initially gave this review 3-stars but after recounting the experience I have lowered it to 2-stars. They really need to work on their service and...
Read moreLast Saturday, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Halikarnas. With relatives visiting from Tibet, we were looking for a special place to share a meal, and Halikarnas exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the warmth and hospitality of the staff made us feel right at home.
The service was impeccable, attentive yet unobtrusive. As for the food, it was just spectacular. The flavors were authentic, rich, and beautifully balanced, capturing the essence of Turkish cuisine. It was evident that every dish was prepared with love and dedication. We had mezze platter to share for 4 people (abundant and delicious) then we had Turkish pizza, and 3 different meat dish. All were fresh and delicious. We also tried Turkish coffee and tea 😋 Price-wise absolutely affordable!
I recommend Halikarnas to anyone with an appreciation for fine food and a warm, welcoming dining atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or a visitor to Helsinki, this restaurant is a must-visit for an authentic taste...
