Ravintola Scandic Aviacongress — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

Stayed at Hotel Scandic Aviacongress during a one day layover. We were too tired to take a taxi or Uber ride 30 minutes to downtown Helsinki for dinner. We decided to settle for the hotel restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. The crawfish toast skagen was very delicious. I loved the whitefish roa topping. The soups were fresh, tasted home made and delicious. We ordered the artichoke and salmon soup. The entrees were just as tasty. The grilled salmon with roasted vegetables was incredible. Long queues to be seated, long waiting time to get the menu, more time for the order to be taken. Food was served after an eternity. Had to wait for more than an hour and a half to get the food. The restaurant is super understaffed. There were only two waiters and two chefs. They were trying to do their best, but it was simply not enough. Scandic needs to hire more staff to run this place. Imagine yourself entering a petrol station restaurant, for example ABC in Finland and a dish that you pay 12.90€ - here you get the same ambience and experience for 10x more - same food. Waoters not extremely attentive - you get fed up waiting to get to ask for the bill and will end up going to pay by the counter.
